We were only there for a weekend but wish we could have stayed longer. Wonderful hotel and staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and beach area was also very clean. Would definitely visit again!!a

First of all i would like to say the people saying this hotel is bad must not be staying here. My family and I have been staying here almost 10 years straight. We have never had any of these problems people said they have had. The owners take very good care of the place. Also, they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. The beach is beautiful and the pool is excelent. They have a big patio with tables and chairs, and chairs you can leen back on to use for tanning, or to just relax. Also, dont worry if you have little kids; the patio and pool is gated in so they can't run away to the beach(which comes in handy). So i recamend you stay here, it really is beautiful.

Very friendly and helpful.Great location.no need for a car if you chose.Family place yet we didn't bring our children and it was still great We invited friends to join us and they also stayed 3 nights.We all had a great time and will be back.Rooms were clean,staff very friedly and went out of their way to help you.

First off I must mention that there are TWO Tradewinds in the area - a bigger, fancier, more expensive building (that some have reviewed here) and the 'pink' two storey building in Treasure Island that I will review.

My husband & I stumbled upon this small family-run motel 3 yrs ago ~ this past year stayed here for our full two weeks vacation. It IS an older, shabby place with just your basics ~ bedding clean & one can improvise with the rest - you don't spend much time inside anyway. The beach is very clean, beautiful & not overly crowded, the cement walkway along beach just great for safe walking, half decent restaurants within walking distance & a new Publix grocery store has been erected which must be very convenient. There are also cozy little lounges {bars} with music in area you can enjoy in the evenings - also within walking distance. If one enjoys shopping like I do, you can go to a different store or mall every night & never have to drive farther than 25 miles! It cost $1,500 USD for 2 weeks in March for our 'suite' which included a kitchenette where meals could be made. This was reasonable compared to bigger places along the beach.

My only negative comment is that the owners have been very hesitant to heat the pool in March every year! As fresh air & exercise are among the main reasons we go 'south', this was really disappointing as pool just too cold for most to swim. I don't believe this was the case along most places in area as pools always packed.

We are heading back to Florida again in the spring and hope to rent something in the vicinity with a heated pool .... maybe share a house with another family??
