I've stayed at this hotel every year in January as my folks stay there for about 6 weeks. The rates are super low- which attracts the retired and usually quiet guests who are all very kind- a few families and a few kind of sketchy characters. It's an odd mix, but everyone seems to like this location and hotel for various reasons. It's basic, but the rooms are clean - many with little kitchens. It's a walk out the door, over the sidewalk onto the widest beach in the area. The pool is kept warm, the grounds are kept tidy (but lots of cemented space vs. grass) and the desk staff is pretty efficient. All the hotels on Treasure Island are kind of sandwiched between the road and the beach... but you can walk every where- to stores, to John's Pass, up and down the 1/2 mile sidewalk between the hotels and beach- hence, basic room & good location= bargain for Treasure Island
