This beachfront property does a great job of providing everything. My husband and I had a suite on the corner and had a great view. During our stay a neighboring hotel had a kite flying competition and we had ring side seats to it! The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and the microwave is a confection oven. Basic kitchenware is included, even an ice bucket for the white wine bottles. Coffee, tea and popcorn are replenished each day. There's no bathtub--I liked the tiles in the shower. Hot water and good pressure everytime we took a shower. Comfortable beds. We had 2 balconies. They supply beach towels and also launder those with the regular towels. There's 3 washers and dryers ($1 each) and they will provide soap gratis!
There were many choices for breakfast--each day there were eggs, 2 side dishes and a main dish that could be egg mcmuffins, hash, sausage biscuits, etc. They offered regular batter for the 2 waffle machines and a flavored one each day (blueberry, chocolate), and had chocolate chips, whipped cream, syrup, strawberries and blueberries for those. The staff also made up yogurt parfaits, which I took each day for my afternoon snack. There's cereals, juices, yogurts, fresh fruit and oatmeal as well. There's to-go boxes and sippy cups for the kids.
Monday and Wednesday nights was a manager's reception, with hot hors dovures, cookies and $1 wine/beer.
The hotel is walking distance to St. John's Pass with dining. (If you drive, it's paid parking, so you may as well walk). There's a great little ice cream stand outside with huge sundaes.
The pool is heated and the spa was hotter than most. The beach is right outside with plenty of shells. We found an amazing number of whole shells. We found that if you hold up anything orange-ish, the seagulls will think it's a cheesecurl or dorito and come right to you--scary! If you walk up to the jetty, you'll see egrets (?) watching fishermen an arm's length away.
Anytime we called with a request, it was dealt with immediately--for awhile our room was being made up around 4:30 and we asked for it to be done with earlier--after that, it was done by noon. If I asked the maid for anything (dishwasher soap, lotion) she would leave lots! I never put out the card to have our sheets washed, because they seemed to be changed every 2-3 days anyway.
Room Tip: The higher up you go, the better the view. Those with odd numbers have a better gulf view and but e...
