The front lobby should have been our "first flag" as what to expect the rooms would be. You could not even sit on the chairs or sofa in the lobby due to an excessive amount of neon colored stuffed animals decorating the place. Things dangling from the walls... It looked like something had exploded in the lobby!! As for the rooms...They need to be updated!! Old carpeting, outdated bathrooms... UGH!!! I think this is a place where people take their one-night-stands. I never have been disappointed in Comfort Inns, until now!! I think upper management needs to take a visit!! They would be shocked. I will never lodge there again. Sorry to have to post this, but people need to know...

First day want well, but second morning was beset with very low water pressure and a broken elevator.

The water pressure started out OK, but faded dramatically near the end of my shower. Fortunately there was enough left to rinse off with. Getting enough water to shave was also a challenge.

There is only one elevator, and it was broken at the time of morning when everyone wanted to check out. I was on the top (4th) floor, so I got my exercise hauling my stuff down the stairs.

One lady apologised, but apologies won't rinse the soap off or carry your bags. The desk clerk refused to acknowledge my complaint, and just said "thanks".

I stay at Comfort Inns/Suites fairly often, but I hope to never return to this particular one.

Stayed at hotel for a local wedding. Usually not a Comfort Suites person, but was surprised that the rooms were suites, the hotel offered a hot breakfast, and the customer service was really awesome. The hotel is not in a resort like setting, but the manager runs a very clean, efficiently staffed property with a fountain in the back that connects to the pool. For a moment it does not feel you are in the middle of a city or near the interstate. I would recommend it - very quiet and very reasonably priced. All the rooms come with a mini-fridge, microwave, and mini-kitchen and is great for having relatives that you might be in town over for the evening as the rooms were ample and comfortable.

Reviews are a funny thing. Hard to decide on this place based on the yin and yang on dispay here. But trusted our travel agent and fortunately our two night stay landed us deep in the positive camp.
Lance(apparently still in employ) checked us in very humanely, answering several location queries. Our non-smoking room evidenced no atmospheric unpleasantries. A fridge. Comfortable firm beds with welcoming sheets and 4 comfy pillows on each. The bathroom was spotless with plenty of towels. Rug barefoot friendly.
Did have trouble connecting my mac powerbook to the net via the provided ethernet cable, but the lobby PC featured free printing
Our maid Mary went out of her way to work our room freshening around our schedule. The free lobby breakfast was adequate for my needs - instant oatmeal, yoplait, silky scrambled eggs, fruit. You could also have waffles, biscuits + gravy, toast etc. The swimming pool is adequate for some brief laps.
The sounds of the lobby's quirky gnome mountain fountain provided an oddly serene setting for after work decompression.
Kind of sad not to have encountered the legendary "Jean", but desk clerk Kathy had no problem with our late check out request.
Overall, nothing run down about the place. It was nice to see another maid cleaning the AC screen of an adjoining room.
This is not an "inside" review. Just the honest assessment of an old rock and roll road dog who has stayed in hundreds of hotels. Good to have a go to place at a good rate in Tampa. Good luck!
P.S. For a surreal experience, ask for directions to the local skating rink where you can come in from the Florida heat and watch hockey games.
