We selected this hotel for it's proximity to Busch Gardens. We had high expectations for this hotel and were extremely disappointed. This hotel is located in a business district and there were limited places to eat.
I had a difficult time falling asleep the first night because my legs were very itchy. To my horror, the next morning I awoke and found flea bites on both of my legs. I also noticed a flea on 2 yr. old son. When I examined him closer, he had a bright red bite on his chest. We called the front desk and the manager came right over. She was apologetic and offered to move us to another room. She said she would take the room out of service and called Ecolab. When my husband told the asst. mgr. that evening about our experience, he asked, "So what, do you want to be compensated?" This is no world-class hospitality that Marriott boasts about. This process of re-packing and then unpacking ruined our hopes of going to the beach that morning. It completely threw my chidren's schedule off and just left a bad impression of the Marriott brand to us. What are hotels doing with the $75 - $100 on-refundable pet deposit they are collecting? Next time, I will go out of my way to ensure I book a hotel that is not pet-friendly because I cannot trust a hotel to thoroughly clean a room after a pet's stay.
