If you have a stay over by the airport this is a good option. Or if you are looking for something centrally located between Tampa and the Beaches, it's great. I really like the location if I want to do alot of different things and not stay in just one spot--it's easy access to Westshore Mall, International mall and Downtown. I could also go across the Causeway and take a quick ride to the Beaches! 1-4 is also close, so that puts you in Orlando in about an hour. I also personally like Hampton when I'm traveling because Breakfast is included and I really like the breakfast....fruits, bagel, coffee. (No made to order omelettes like the Embassy but the price is alot less and it's better then the typical "contenential" at most!)

I have stayed in the Hampton in Tampa twice now once last December and once this December.
last December we were charged just under $400.00 for laundry!
This year we received an extremly high phone bill.
I have made about 8 phone call from Zambia to try to get a break down of the calls but no luck.

Surly Hampton you should list a pricing in the room for phone call so that your customers are aware of the price implications.you wont see us again once bitten twice shy.

Checked in Sunday at 11pm after traveling for 7+ hours. Matt at front desk was relaxed and prompt to get me to room. Tracy at front desk took it upon herself to help me resolve an issue with Unaffiliated pizza delivery company an George was quick to offer a ride an give bar/restaurant suggestions. I have been in hospitality industry for 6 years this hotel was one of the better stays/experiences I have had this hotel did not have the fancy suits at front desk or 200$/night-rooms. The employees however should and could be afforded an opportunity to rate top! Conversation was pleasant and many employees called most all guests that the came across by name. I overheard one employee inquiring a frequent traveler about his family and over seas trip, you do t get this everywhere.

We always frequent the Hampton Inn and this is the first hotel that we experienced an average time. This may be an older property but it is not your typical Hampton Inn. The lobby, where they had the breakfast is extremely small and cannot seat more than 30 or so guests at a time. To make it worse during our stay there were some very inconsiderate guests who set up there computers and monopolized the tables while other guests where unable to sit down and eat their breakfast.
The bathroom in our room was the smallest I have ever seen and counter space was very limited.
When we arrived on Sunday afternoon the front desk staff was awesome and very accommodating however at checkout on Monday morning the young lady at the desk obviously hated her job. It was an effort for her to even acknowledge the guests she was talking to! This was another first for me from a Hampton Inn employee because they always are extremely friendly!
If we were back in the area we would return however we would investigate other options first!
