First let me say that I would choose this hotel first if returning to Tampa. The rooms were clean and beautiful with flat screen tv's that swivel, a kitchen and large shower (no bath). The toiletries were nice quality (Neutrogena) which was a nice touch. The staff was incredible and made me feel important. Every staff member I encountered smiled and greeted me. I asked the lobby staff what was fun to do nearby, specifically where I might find a restaurant/bar with a great view of the bay and they called around to find out and gave me directions to several suggestions. There are a ton of things nearby including a movie theater, restaurants, Target, and tons of stores. However, it is a bit difficult to access the hotel because even though its visible from the interstate, you have to drive around in circles a few blocks to get there. This can be nice though because it sits on a quiet culdesac with little traffic. Breakfast had many nice choices including fruit, waffles, oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, bagels, etc. The managers reception was great and offered beer/wine, baked potatos, chili and broccoli and cheese. As an objective reviewer, the only things I encountered that I would improve but wouldn't keep me from going back were 1. The elevators are rediculously slow. 2. The tiles in the elevator are chipped and cracked so it made me wonder what the rooms would look like on the way up (thankfully they were wonderful). 3. A few problems at breakfast - the sausage looked/tasted undercooked and when I poured a glass of water from the dispenser it had some debris in it that looked like white fish food flakes (icky) So I didn't drink it. But hey, it was free so I can't complain. 4. It would be nice to have soda availabe for non-drinkers at the manager's reception (Again...Free! So not complaining, just suggesting what could make it perfect). This place should be rated higher than 3 stars!
