Don't look for charm here (or I suspect anywhere in Tampa near the airport) but this hotel has everything you really need. The staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and the cafe food is edible. The shuttles are effcicient and always available for short trips around the area - try to get Danny as your driver. I don't want to give anything away so I will leave it to him to tell you about his very momentous life, which involves a poignant interaction with Roberto Clemente. The hotel is near the big upscale "international" mall, but not so close to Ybor.

We checked into Wyndham Tampa Westshore on 01/07/2012. We liked that Wyndham provided shuttle service from the airport to the hotel at no additional charge. Our room was very nice and clean. The grounds are very pretty. There were many restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel also offers many “free shuttle” transportation to nearby restaurants and points of interest. We asked about transportation to the port and were assisted by Kenny in the bar. Kenny went over and beyond. He made us aware of all the transportation Tampa has to offering including the local bus service. We found that bus #30 stops right in front of the hotel, takes you to the main bus exchange where we took bus #8 and were at the port all within 30 minutes. The local bus service is $1.75 per person verses the standard taxi fare of $30. Funny, the next morning when we checked out we wanted to thank Kenny for his friendly service and for being so helpful come to find out, the gentleman behind the counter was Kenny’s identical twin brother, Anthony. Great place to stay.

I had a previous experience with this particular hotel that led me to revisit when I had the opportunity. Bottom line, this hotel was GREAT!!! Three of my colleagues decided to stay in another hotel two blocks away but after comparing the two, they soon discovered they had made a huge mistake. The hotel, staff, and management were all user friendly. As soon as I came through the doors I felt a sense committed professionalism this hotel obviously took pride in. I could go on and on about the full breakfast available, the complementary 24 hr shuttle that will take to and from anywhere (in a three mile radius), or the free food and drink specials they offer Monday through Friday. I work for a company that hosts events for Fortune 500 executives at top resorts all over North America so I am accustomed to a high level of service and attention to detail. I recently spent a week at the Wyndham Tampa Westshore making use of their conference rooms to conduct interviews for a major recruiting project. I received a level of service from everybody on staff that was on another level altogether. They were quick to refresh the rooms, provide technical support, direct applicants to meeting rooms and so on. They constantly ensured that I had everything I needed and did so with a genuine smile. We had three conference rooms to conduct interviews and a steady stream if applicants coming to the front desk asking where to find us. Knowing that each applicant was going to be received by friendly and professional Wyndham staff gave me great peace of mind because I knew that the first impression was going to be favorable. It had the potential to be chaotic but the Wyndham staff ensured that the process was orderly and professional. All of that said, what truly impressed me was the way the staff interacted with and treated each other. It looked like a family that was happy to be in each other's company and happy to be working together to make their guests experience a perfect one. That tells me that it is a culture from top down that makes this a place I would go out of my way to visit again. As a company that is in the process of adding fifty new jobs to the Tampa Westshore economy I hope the culture of the Wyndham Westshore is a reflection of the community we will be joining.
