As I had previously been walked from the Intercontinental, my former hotel of choice in Tampa, where I stay for business about 20 nights a year. Vowing never to return to the Intercontinental, a business associate suggested the Renaissance. What a lovely hotel. The front desk welcomed me and welcomed my travel partner back. They even upgraded him based on the fact that he was a regular customer. That is how regular customers are supposed to be treated. The hotel was bright and cheery as we're the rooms. The door men were somewhat clueless, but if you asked them to carry your luggage they responded properly (they should ask you in the first place). The hotel was spotlessly clean. But the two very best things were the restaurant at the hotel which was amazing and the fact that the hotel is right next to and attached to a really high end mall. The mall has great shops, but best of all, and I am sure that I am speaking for all visitors from cold climates, it has an outdoor food alley with a choice of wonderful restaurants, all with outdoor seating areas. What a treat. Thank you Renaissance. You are my new hotel of choice in Tampa. I will see you again.
