We just stayed here for a few days before our ship left as we were taking a cruise. I booked this on Hotwire and got an EXCELLENT deal for a suite room. The room are HUGE and very clean. View was of the bay and the pool and it was beautiful. We had dolphins jumping out in the bay one morning. The only downfall was that they lost power on the day we were to check out and it was black in most of our room except the bedroom. I had took my necklace off and laid it on a table in the living room area and couldn't see it and didn't remember it was sitting there and when I called about it they obviously "found nothing" in our room. It was an anniversary gift from my husband so that pretty much sucked.

Review based on two stays - Very nice waterfront location. Front desk staff freindly (Italian gentleman). Comfortable bed & pillows. Unfortunatley that's where the positives end. The hotel is very out-dated and over-priced. Water temp was very low. Checked out early on second stay and moved to another hotel. Loud drunk crowd in bar attending convention never asked to respect other guests - just served them more drinks!.

My sister lives in Tampa and I went to visit last year and her A/C went on the blink so, I booked a room at the doubletree by Tampa Bay.

When I tell you I had the most relaxed, peaceful time by the pool, I am not exagerating!
The pool is right next to the bay and when you look out onto the bay, it looks like a big infinity pool!

The room was amazing! Double queen size beds in a separate closed room, the living room was huge with a nice size table for eating and/or working.

If you're trying to get your 'Feng Shui' on, this is the place to be!

We stayed here for 5 nights in late December through New Year's. We requested a room on a high floor with a view of the bay and our request was honored. We could watch dolphins in the bay from our room.

The layout of the room was great - living area, office area, spacious bedroom, and refrigerator and microwave which allowed us to have some meals in the room. The staff was excellent and very friendly.

I was just shocked at the value you get with this room (suite) - we paid a little over $100 per night for the room (a bit more for New Year's Eve) and it was better than a lot of places we have stayed for double or triple the amount.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when in the Tampa area. Thanks to the hotel for a great stay!
