I stayed here 3 nights for a business trip in Tampa. Room was very clean with contemporary furnishings. There are a few areas for hotel improvement though - 1) wait for the complimentary airport shuttle was rather long (50 minute wait with 2 phone call requests) 2) During my second night I received a mild electrical shock from the wall light switch and requested someone check it - not sure if that was done - no communication back 3) The annoying knocking sound coming from the stairwell next to my room made for some restless sleep - I reported this too but no communication back. This did not ruin my stay but I was disappointed that communication was lacking.
Location of this hotel is convenient to a mall. There was a newspaper each weekday morning at my door. Housekeeping does a great job. Comfortable bed. Overall staff are pleasant. Free parking was plentiful. Not all rooms have hard wire internet access.

Good location near airport. Great staff. Great price.

Stayed here for three nights over New Year's. It is a beautiful hotel with great views from our room. The pool area is large - actually larger than the photos on the website looked. We got complimentary breakfast each morning (not sure why).

Bar is under new management as of 12/31/2011. Also valet is new, as of 12/31/2011. Valet drivers were extremely friendly.

It's near the airport and my DH said he woke several times hearing planes. DS and I never heard anything and slept fine.

Our room was just perfect - beautiful linens, clean every day. Will definitely return.

I was in Sarasota FL for two nights on business on my way back to the BVI from Connecticut, but realized I had a 6AM flight out of Tampa the next morning. Rather than drive 1.5 hours and have to hassle with the car return at 4 AM in the morning, I decided to stay the last night in Tampa instead,and return the car the evening before. Booked on line, and there was no problem getting a room for the last night in FL at the last minute. The hotel was easy to find just off the highway, and about 10 minutes from the terminals at the airport. They have a courtesy shuttle which was handy when I wanted to return my car and then go back to the hotel for the evening. Staff was courteous when checking in and handling the bags. Got upgraded to an Executive Floor or whatever the buzzword was as a result of being a InterContinental Ambassador Platinum Member (well worth the cost in my opinion). Room was very nice and comfortable. Got in around 8:30PM and was exhausted so ordered room service when I was in the lobby and my bags were being delivered to the room. Again, staff very accommodating. Nothing was missing from the room service tray and the food was good. Not fine dining, but I was hungary and this hit the spot. Although perhaps the smallest can of Coke Zero I have ever seen (note to Beverage Manager:spring for the 12 oz can for your guests.) Bed was comfortable, and bath was modern and very clean. Towels were of quantity and plushness you would expect from a Crowne Plaza. Soundproofing was good and did not get disturbed by the planes or traffic on the road out front. The fact is that the entire room was modern, very clean, and everything worked, which has not always been my experience in Florida. All in all for the one night, the hotel was convenient, the staff friendly, the room comfortable and the food good. Brief but good stay at the Crowne Plaza Tampa Westshore.
