“Worst Manager I've Ever Encountered”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Terrible service, run-down room and never told about the breakfast until after it was over.
We checked in late at the after hours window. The clerk took my credit card and left abruptly before I could ask about AAA discount. I asked her when she came back and was told that I needed to ask for it before she ran the card, but she would leave a note for the manager. We were exhausted and went right to sleep. When we woke up, we noticed that the top sheet was completely thread bare. The edge of the sheet was no longer material but rather loose threads. We called the front desk at 9:15 to ask about coffee and were told that there was a breakfast included with the room but it closed up at 9:00. When we asked why we were not told about the breakfast, we were told we should have read the sign at the check-in window. There was no sign at the check-in window. The manager kept insisting that there was a breakfast notice at the check-in window, even after the desk clerk told her she could not find it. The problem, the manager said, was with us because we did not read the sign, which wasn't there. When we told the clerk about the sheets she just stared at us. When I asked about the AAA discount, the clerk said her manager told her she did not have to honor the discount because we did not tell the check-in clerk about it before the credit card was charged. During this whole exchange we were treated with contempt and never offered an apology or a civil word. At that point we called the Days Inn main office. The result was the manager of the hotel we stayed at sent us an apology form letter ( complete with misspelled words and bad grammar ) and an offer of a 20% discount on our next stay. We called the Days Inn main office and told them that we would sleep in the car before staying at that hotel again. We were given a 20% refund on the night we had paid for. I sure wish we would have read the Tripadvisor reviews before we stayed here!

“Sleep in the car”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Way too many things to list. Room 238 the week between Christmas and New Year. First, sign out front says $49, bill said $59. When inquired, was told by desk clerk "old sign." Then, to my horror, desk clerk photocopied my driver's license and credit card. When I inquired as to why, I was told "I was told to do that." SHOCKING!!. I insisted on the paper being returned IMMEDIATELY, which it was. There were several issues with the room. Shower curtain had huge tear causing water to run all over the floor. No tub drain plug. No bathmat. Asked for third set of towels daily due to three adults in room. Rarely got the third and usually had to go down to desk and request them. One day the housekeeper took them out but did not replenish any hand towels, bath towels, soap, or shampoo. First morning room was not made up. When inquired, was told my room "was not put on the list." There was a huge pile of foam from the bed box frame on the floor where it appears a mouse ate it out and made a nest. I pointed this out to the desk clerk when she brought up my replacement clock radio that did not work. Not surprisingly, it was still there for the remainder of the stay. The clock radio and phone did not work. Replacements were brought up. There were no dialing instructions on the second phone rendering it still useless. Bottom two drawers on the dresser did not open and appeared to be nailed shut. The pool was so gross none of us would even walk past it, let alone use it. It was GREEN. There were also several night time noise issues. (loud motorcycles and car stereos will not be considered as they were on the nearby street and not in control of the hotel). One night several people were downstairs yelling at 2 am and pounding on doors, with no consideration to other guests. Another night around the same time, there was a man yelling for about 30 seconds, then quiet. Five minutes later, the quietness was broken up by a police helicopter hovering overhead and a police dog barking. We feared for our safety and would have checked out, but felt we were safer staying in the room. I was told continental breakfast was "from 6am until 9am" When I would get down there at 8:45 am, much of the food was gone, including all fresh fruit and juices. As a result, most mornings we went to a nearby restaurant (Denny's on Hillsboro Rd) to eat breakfast. And I am sure I missed some things here. You will be getting this SAME negative review on several websites.

“kicked out, no warning”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

currently I'm in the process of TRYING to get my money back since the manager of this hotel refuses to call me back. the cops showed up at our door the second night we paid to stay there and told us we had to leave. noise complaint is all we got. the hotel staff didn't even tell us we were being loud. just treated it like we were told to shut up and we refused or something. the phone lines weren't even plugged in so how can they in the first place. the cops said we couldn't talk to the manager til the next day. surprise surprise she wasn't there and is never there when i call. now all they tell me is that the room was a mess. ya of course because the cop gave us several minutes to gather our things. he also pushed the door in when i attempted to change and said that wasn't allowed. also on the first night we had a guy try to sell us drugs and asked us a billion questions and the staff didn't do anything about it. don't stay here. just don't.

“Nightmare In Tampa”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Flew into Tampa for our cruise, my wife bookrd on line and looked at pictures of the hotel. OMG... upon check in we were told there was no electicity, the elevator was out of order and the room was on the 3rd floor. The room smelled musty, the bathroom was VERY outdated, and the AC didnt work , even after the power came back at 2am, and there was some gangster smoking pot on the balcony...... Never Again
