I stay in a lot of la Quinta's since I travel with dogs. This one is the dirtiest, scariest one ever! Air conditioners leaked, rooms stunk. "Breakfast"? Um, a few boiled eggs, and horribly burnt coffee, stale toast--all that was available, and most of it was gone well before 9 AM the time it was supposed to end. No creamers or milk for coffee. Attendant spoke no English, so no way to ask.
The housekeeping staff is on a very early schedule as well. At 7:30 AM they were knocking on doors to come in to clean!
Elevators were scary, shuddering, dropping suddenly. We took them once, but carried our bags down the stairs after that.
Considering this is aimed at families going to Busch Gardens, there is a distinct lack of family feel here. Pool was ice cold. Dingy old hotel with obviously abandoned cars in the lot (the police were there when we checked out, they were looking at a car with flat tires, and scarf hanging out of it--someone said there was a body in it???!). The entire experience was disgusting.
There is a newer looking La Quinta around the corner by SFU. Can't be as bad as this one!

I've enjoyed staying at La Quinta hotels across the country and expected a similar experience here. Perhaps the $55 per night for a suite should have tipped me off. We walked into the room and the sour smell of the stained carpet was the first turn-off. The furniture was filthy and we wouldn't have dared to sit in it. Asked for another room-same thing. It's an old hotel in the typical La Quinta style on a busy and very noisy corner across from Busch Gardens. There was simply no way my wife and I would stay even one night. We went down the street to the La Quinta near the university and paid more but are happy to stay in a quieter and immensely cleaner room! There are several hotels and motels within a block or two of Busch Gardens and no one should consider staying at this La Quinta unless you have a kegger planned for the evening!

This hotel is just about the cheapest option that exists...in America. It is literally right next to Busch gardens. If you happen to be going up just to enjoy the park and don't want to pay extra for parking, then this hotel is the perfect spot. Its like a lodge, its a place to put your head down after a long day of roller coasters.
The size of the room was acceptable, the in room amenities were fine. There was no closet, but they had a hanging rack. The bathroom was clean. I wish that the pay channels worked, other than that, i had no gripes. My only gripe would be the people reviewing this hotel that expected the ritz carlton. I checked in at midnight, there was somebody to greet me, she was professional and friendly, the hotel accommodated my request to have a king size bed, and they gave me a comp late check-out until 1 no questions asked.

We stayed in this hotel two nights and have no complaints. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Bed linens were new and tasteful. There is a little bit of road noise (doors are outside entrance), but not loud enough to be a bother. Free breakfast included - waffles, yogurts, bagels, etc. There's a huge breakfast room, but it's a big hotel so it was crowded anyway.

It's so close to Bush Gardens that when in the parking lot you can hear the screams of folks on the roller coasters - however, even though the park is just across the street, the actual entrance is about a mile away. We drove and paid $14 for parking, but suspect a taxi would have been cheaper.
