Quite nice inside - next to Walmart. Front desk service was good. Breakfast average with the usual waffles, pancakes, premade omlettes cereal etc. The only thing is breakfast is served only till 9am - not great when on holiday and want to sleep in.

Three is a great rating for me so don't be fooled by rating. Hotel is sort of hidden and my gps had us turning in the wrong direction on Waters Ave. but other than that, this hotel is quiet, excellent staff and a great breakfast with a free newspaper. We're traveling with a 15 year old dog so we were happy to see so much grass around the hotel since he isn't into long walks anymore.
We were going to a USF football game at "RayJay" and we were there in minutes! Perfect location. The Lowry zoo is close by and the Hard Rock casino was less than 10 miles away. All our needs were filled in this quiet, clean location with a very reasonable price and no charge for the dog! One of the La Quinta perks. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed two nights in a king suite. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good enough ; first time we had blueberry waffles. We had a dog with us; no extra charge is nice. We felt safe in the area around the hotel. The room was quiet. Staff was friendly and polite.

We stayed at this hotel while in town for a funeral. I made the reservations on line thru priceline so the rates were great.
The front desk personnel were wonderful! They were cordial, polite, professional and friendly. They greeted us each time we came in the front door.
We had a king handicap accessible room and a 2 queen beds room. The first night we checked in to the king room. The second day the rest of our party arrived and we checked into the queen bed room we had reserved. When my children went to their room, they found it had a wet carpet musty smell. Upon reporting this to the front desk, they were immediately moved to another room, which happened to be the last room available, a king suite with a full kitchen. They provided a roll away so my son and daughter wouldn't have to share the king bed and they kept the room rate the same. The rollaway mattress was poor, but we had an inflatable twin mattress with us which my daughter used on the rollaway frame and said it worked fine. The rooms were spotless and had fantastic housekeeping service each day. The carpet was clean...we could walk on the floor with socks on and they remained clean. The king bed was extremely comfortable, even for my husband who has arthritis.
The breakfast was quite adequate. It would be nice if it remained open after 9am, as some mornings we wanted to sleep a little later. The highlight was the waffle maker and there was always a waiting line for it, maybe they should consider installing another one? There was eggs, bacon or sausage, yoguart, fresh fruit, cereal, milk, coffee, juice and of course waffles. The staff maintained the breakfast bar well and there was always plenty of food available.
The location was a little tricky to get into if you are west bound on Waters Ave. You have to go down and do a u turn to get to the entrance. I didn't have a problem with this. The general location was good for us as it was within 6 - 7 miles of the different locations we needed to go and wasn't near the airport or interstate (which we wanted to avoid).
We visit Tampa frequently and now have found a great hotel we can make reservations with and will return to this location when we are in the area again.
As an additional plus, there is a Walmart Super Center right behind the hotel, which was extremely convenient when we needed to get a few things.
