We stayed at this hotel for one night and that was a mistake. Dirty room, bad mattress and a general rundown appearance. Weren't even sure we wanted to sleep in the bed. Thankful we had only booked it for one night. We have stayed at Studio Plus hotels and never had a problem, so I was hoping Homestead would be on the same level. WRONG! BAD CHOICE!

I stayed at the Homestead Suites Tamarac on Mar 18-21,05. I highly advise not to book a room in this dump. The room was in such a state of decline and disrepair that I was embarressed that I brought a guess. First they would not answer the phone to give directions from the airport. Second upon arrival we were told there would be no maid service for the entire stay. We were told to bring the towels to the front desk for exchange.The carpet was filthy and hadn't been vacuumed or shampooed in ages it seemed. There was laminate coming off the cabinets. The bathroom sink was broken. The refrigerator had a gasket hanging off the door and would not close. The room was dated and the decor was deplorable. I was there on a busy spring break weekend and didn't complain because I chose not to ruin my vacation with confrontation that would fall on deaf ears. When I asked for coffee and sugar the desk clerk said there was none. Later a kind maid got it for me. When I filed a complaint with Orbitz they called the hotel and the management stated the room had been renovated 2 weeks ago ( what a lie). I'll never stay there again and would never reccomend it to another.

Flights were wonderful!Hotel was fair-clean, but with NO extras.No Housekeeping on weekdnes No Hair dryer, soap, shampoo, extra pillow, pool.

This is a TERRIBLE place!

1. Extremely filthy. I needed to plug in the bed lamp that had been unplugged (don't ask me why it was unplugged!) and there was enough dirt, cobwebs, bugs, etc. behind the table to last me a lifetime.

2. There were no (absolutely none... nada) hangers in the room. We requested them and were told that the maid would leave them. After 3 days of waiting and asking, we finally went to the office and demanded some hangers so we could get our clothes off the chairs and dresser.

3. We were in a non-smoking room. The smoke detector had been removed and was in a drawer. There were ashtrays in the room. So much for a non-smoking room.

4. Our room was cleaned (if you could call it that) after 4 days. Then we were told it wouldn't be cleaned again until 7 days out. When we tried to substantiate that with the telephone reservation number, no one seemed to know exactly what the policy is and they were very evasive about this issue.

5. If you bring used towels to the office they will provide you with fresh towels. It usually took us 2, 3 or 4 trips there until towels were available.

6. There were those little roach hotel boxes in the kitchen cupboard.
What does this tell you?

7. The iron was missing. We asked for an iron and were told the maid would leave one. Never happened.

We were there for 11 nites. Would have moved but we were in Ft.
Lauderdale area at a busy time. Other rooms that were available were beyond our budget. We had a terrible experience and would never stay at any Homestead Suites hotel fearing the same bad experience.
