My wife and I have been travelling across the U.S.as part of our retirement trip. We started in Pittsburgh, PA and made our way slowly West. Most of the hotels we stayed in were part of the La Quinta chain as they are pet friendly. Most were good and a few were great however the one in Tallahassee Fl was poorly run. The carpet was stained, the hotel was not kept up, the elevator was dirty. It's a good thing we were only there for the night.

I stayed with friends for the weekend, the room was damp and smelled of mold as soon as we walked in. I don't think the carpet had been cleaned in years. And to top it off, we found mold growing on the pillows! We asked the hotel to replace the pillows when we found out and we received other pillows that were moldy as well. I can't even imagine what we would've found if we kept looking. They claimed they had wifi in the hotel rooms but we couldn't connect to it throughout our stay. For the price, I've stayed at better. This hotel was beyond unacceptable.

We were very displeased during our two-day stay. The towels and pillows were worn and thin. The carpet was dirty. The key-card stopped working on our 2nd day, and housekeeping didn't make up the room until 5 PM that day. Breakfast offered a meager selection including over-ripe bananas.

And to top it all off, our car was vandalized while in the parking lot overnight.

Given a room in back of hotel--very old and run down section-didn't feel especially safe. Extremely damp and musty. Towels were very old and worn. Breakfast was not up to standards set at other La Quintas.
We traveled cross-country and stayed at four La Quintas. This was, by far, the worst.
