This hotel is located on Apalachee Pkwy just a few miles south of the Capitol Building and the FSU Campus. For just a few extra miles you get the best choices of restaurants, shopping and bank locations. This is a more moderately priced hotel compared to the hotels on the north side of town. I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere other than this part of town. Hwy 27 north is congested and ugly. Apalachee Pkwy is a very nice part of town. The drive to the Capitol gives a very impressive viewpoint as you approach the Old Capitol Building and the newer tower behind it. The FSU campus is just beyond that and is easy to get to. We were there to move my daughter in to the dorms at FSU.
On the phone ahead of time the front desk clerk was freindly and helpful. A different person when we got there lacked enthusiasm but did their job satisfactorily. We got what I would consider to be a very good deal on our room by using a coupon. It is an attractive hotel and our room was clean and comfortable and did not smell or have any obvious issues as I had read in other reviews prior to our stay. The breakfast was very basic and not as good as other La Quinta's I have stayed at before but it was free and adequate.
Over the next several years I will be making many trips to Tally to visit with my daughter while she is at FSU. I plan on staying here each and every time.
