I was on a trip to the Daytona Beach, FL area for my yearly golf outing and had the chance to stay at this particular hotel on the night of March 18th, 2011. The room was very clean and comfy and the hotel clerk was very helpful at check-in. When I arrived I was quoted a price of around $53. plus tax I believe it was but when I showed the clerk my ABVI discount membership card the price was reduced to a rate that was below $50. after the taxes were included.

The clerk was also very helpful about recommending a bar-b-q restaurant down the street for dinner that night. All in all I would say this hotel was worth the money spent on my night's stay.

Very dirty and run down. Not up to America's Best Value's standards. There was some kind of business going on outside our door all night long!! Stay away!!!!!

This was the most disgusting place I've ever seen. The room smelled of something undescribable. There were vagrants drinking beer and bother guests (myself included) on the premises. The parking lot was littered with fast food garbage, beer cans/bottles, and snack food containers. There was no blanket and the sheets had cigarette burns in them. The dust was an inch think on the TV credensa. I did not feel safe. This was parents weekend and there were no other options. I would have rather slept in my car.

I checked into this property just before midnight. I had been driving all day and my intention was to get 4 hour of sleep before driving another 4 hours to an 830AM meeting.The property seemed fairly quiet and the parking lot was less than 1/3 full.

My first clue should have been while I was carrying my bag into the ground floor room. "Bubba" and "Jim Bob" were in the adjacent room with the door open and apparently drinking lots of beer. One of them shouted out some comment on my New England plate.

At 2AM I was awoken from a sound sleep by a loud slam. My first thought was that a car had hit the building. This was followed by screaming and yelling from the next room. I called the front desk and told the clerk to "call the police - NOW". After about 10 minutes the fighting died down. It started again with more crashing about 15 minutes later. I called the front desk again, this time with no answer. It subsided again only to start up yet again about 15 minutes later with more crashing and louder screaming.

At this point I packed my belongings and left the room. I told the front desk that I did not feel safe on the property. He wanted to move me to another room and claimed that he couldn't refund me. I demanded a refund and was eventually told that it had been done.

To the best of my knowledge, the police never arrived.
