I actually stayed at this hotel twice in a period of two months, first by myself for 3 days and then with my family for 7 days. Overall, both experiences were mainly good.
Positives. This hotel has a lot going for it. It was very nice and clean. The lobby, breakfast area, and billards room are all very big, modern, and clean. The rooms were EXCELLENT. They could not have been better. The first trip I stayed in a one bedroom suite and the second trip was in a two bedroom suite. The rooms are very modern and clean. The beds were great and the kitchen was awesome. I really cannot speak highly enough of the rooms. Breakfast was superb. They had a great variety and the food was delicious. They had these fruit and yogurt parfaits that were really good but sometimes they would be out which would always disappoint me, haha. The kitchen staff were great though.
On some nights they would even do a free dinner or "snack" but honestly it was enough food that it should have been called a dinner. I was really impressed with this. The fitness room was really good compared to most hotels. The pool and hot tub were both great as well. The front desk had some really nice and helpful people and some non-helpful people with bad attitudes. It was hit and miss on who you got. The maids were really nice and did an excellent job except they never changed the sheets or made the bed on the pull-out couch even when we left it out for them to do.
Negatives. While overall I would recommend this hotel, there a very things that could have been improved but most were minor. The elevators were having problems when we there and were very slow. Also, there is a patio area in between the pool and the building that people will sit in and smoke and drink alcohol. If you're in the pool or the hot tub you can sometimes smell the smoke which was highly annoying.
However, there is one major negative that is somewhat out of the hotel's control but you need to be aware of. There is a bar/club that is about a half a block down on the cross-street from the hotel. Thurs-Sun this place blasts its music. My first trip I stayed in a room on the front of the building and could not sleep at all the last night (a Thursday). The front desk said there wasn't anything they could do and seemed quite apathetic. I found this disconcerting since one would think there are noise ordinances in the City of Tallahassee. For the second trip we requested a room on the backside of the hotel and couldn't hear the music. You definitely want to stay in a room on the backside in general. It is MUCH quieter as the hotel is right at the corner of an intersection.
In summary, stay in a room on the backside of the hotel and you will really enjoy your stay. The rooms, food, and facilities are terrific!
Room Tip: Reserve a room on the backside of the hotel.
