I generally do not write a poor review and fully understand you get what you pay for in life, but, please beware - this hotel is dirty and our room smelled. It is cheap for the area. We have a number of issues with the place. The bathroom had a hairball and room had a foul odor. Carpets were filthy. The bed was very soft and to top it off, the remote did not work. I wanted to check out but there was no rooms available in the area due to it being a football weekend in Tallahassee. We will never stay here again - regardless of price or proximity.

Stayed 2 nights in October to attend a FSU football game. Smell kind of like mold. Also the hotel doesn't supply enough towels-had to get more from front desk. When I went to check out, had a line of people with the same complaints. Also the bathroom is so small so when you get out the shower, you bump into the toilet. It's very hard to move around. I won't stay there again. The mold smell causes problems with my asthma.

The Red Roof Inn in Tallahassee, FL is by no means a Five Star Hotel. It's rooms are accessed via doors on the outside of the buildings, and the accommodations are no where near up to date. However, Clarance, the front desk attendant during both nights of my stay was extremely couteous, attentive, and accommodating. He made sure that I wanted for nothing during the course of my stay, and even ran an extra room key to my door when I needed one. He was knowledgeable of the local restaraunts and other places to visit. The price was reflective of the amenities, but the service was well above what was expected of inexpensive lodging.

Stayed one night while on the road. Clarence at the front desk was really helpful getting the room I wanted and giving restaurant recommendations. Room was small and a little old but very clean. Can't really complain about a 40 dollar room.
