We recently traveled to Tallahassee for a FSU football game. We booked the Comfort Suites via Priceline.
Service: The problems all started when we arrived on Friday evening to check in. Two rooms had been booked via Priceline (not the bidding process), with a confirmation number for both rooms. One room was available and ready as expected, however, the second was not available and per the reservation they had no record of the reservation. After some back and forth, calling us by the wrong name multiple times, somehow a room magically become available. While we were waiting numerous people came in looking for rooms that night, and nothing was available.
Room: Our room had a king sized bed and a sleeper sofa. The room definitely had a weird musty odor that was disconcerting. The bed was not terribly comfortable, the mattress was a little older and sank in the middle a bit. The hotel uses those stupid smaller pillows that just are not comfortable. The bathroom was on the smaller side, but it was clean with plenty of towels. The light/fan combo was extremely loud. Also it had a pocket type door that was difficult to open and close. The television was an older tube type tv, but it did have a lot of channels. The room also had a microwave and small fridge which was handy.
Food: Breakfast was complimentary and was ok. It was typical continental breakfast fare, danish, toast, bagels, waffle iron, cereal, fruit, yogurt juices, tea, coffee, etc. It was available until 10am and was sufficient.
Location: The hotel is conveniently located to the Capital and to FSU. There are many restaurants nearby and it is easy to access the hotel.
I would not necessarily recommend this hotel to a friend or to family, but it was a good price for a football weekend, so it would be ok if it was the best price for the area.
