Stayed at this hotel twice the last few weeks, for 6 nights each, in Jan. and Feb. 2012. Both stays were for business purposes. This is an older-style hotel with the rooms opening onto a courtyard where there is nice vegetation and a pool. It's been so long since I've stayed in one of these styles of hotels, I was a little weirded out by the possibility of people lurking outside my curtained windows (did I close the blinds good enough???) but I think the curtains close adequately so I didn't really need to worry.
The room was pretty clean, though like many hotels I did find a few stray hairs here and there from previous guests. I did not get the sense, however, that the room hadn't been cleaned between guests or that fresh sheets were not on the bed - all seemed like it had been refreshed between.
The bed and pillows were comfortable. There is a train that runs by every little while but you probably won't hear it if you request a quiet room, which I did and was never disturbed by the noise. The hotel is on a very busy street, but I also was unable to hear the noise from the road.
In addition to the hotel lounge, there are a few restaurants within walking distance, though for best dining you will want some form of transportation. I only tried the breakfast one day and it was just fine with sweet pastries, fruits, cereals, eggs, breakfast meats, biscuits and gravy, coffee - just about all the basics covered.
Except for one evening during my stay when it was unbearably slow, the in-room wireless internet connection seemed pretty stable.
Overall, this is a decent stay with a decent price. Would recommend to anyone looking for clean, comfortable, safe accommodations on a budget.
Room Tip: If you must have quiet, request a quiet room away from the train tracks.
