“Awful room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We mistakenly were given a smoking room. The minute we walked into this room, you could cut the smoke with a knife it was so thick. There were multiple burn marks on the carpet. The carpet was very old, nasty and spongey. There was a dirty wash cloth under the curtain when we first got in the room as well. The TV remote didn't work, and the staff told us to make sure we were pointing the remote at the fridge and not the TV : / b/c thats where the cable box was on top of (fair enough). Bed, sheets, pillows were all very old and nasty.

Once we told the staff about our problems they were great and did everything they could. Unfort they had no other non-smoking rooms, so they refunded us for the remaining 2 nights and we found other accomodations. Will not be staying here ever again.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for non-smoking.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at our property. We appreciate your feedback and steps are being taken to ensure that each guest experience is positive. We are sorry that we were not able to accommodate your request for a non smoking room. Unfortunately opaque sites such as Hotwire and Priceline do not guaranteed bed types or smoking preferences. While we make every effort to accommodate guests requests for a particular smoking preference, at times this is not always possible. On the night that you stayed with us all of our non smoking rooms were occupied.
I apologize for any inconvenience that you experienced and hope you will stay with us again soon.
Sincerely,
Barbara Hurley

“Decent place for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed at this hotel twice the last few weeks, for 6 nights each, in Jan. and Feb. 2012. Both stays were for business purposes. This is an older-style hotel with the rooms opening onto a courtyard where there is nice vegetation and a pool. It's been so long since I've stayed in one of these styles of hotels, I was a little weirded out by the possibility of people lurking outside my curtained windows (did I close the blinds good enough???) but I think the curtains close adequately so I didn't really need to worry.

The room was pretty clean, though like many hotels I did find a few stray hairs here and there from previous guests. I did not get the sense, however, that the room hadn't been cleaned between guests or that fresh sheets were not on the bed - all seemed like it had been refreshed between.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. There is a train that runs by every little while but you probably won't hear it if you request a quiet room, which I did and was never disturbed by the noise. The hotel is on a very busy street, but I also was unable to hear the noise from the road.

In addition to the hotel lounge, there are a few restaurants within walking distance, though for best dining you will want some form of transportation. I only tried the breakfast one day and it was just fine with sweet pastries, fruits, cereals, eggs, breakfast meats, biscuits and gravy, coffee - just about all the basics covered.

Except for one evening during my stay when it was unbearably slow, the in-room wireless internet connection seemed pretty stable.

Overall, this is a decent stay with a decent price. Would recommend to anyone looking for clean, comfortable, safe accommodations on a budget.

Room Tip: If you must have quiet, request a quiet room away from the train tracks.

“Terrific value, friendly staff, lovely hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Spent 3 nights here, during road trip of Florida. It was a slice of heaven! Immaculate rooms with modern amenities, lovely outdoor pool, generous hot breakfast, business center with 3 computers and printers, clean workout gym, great location. They accepted our Roomsaver coupons and were most accommodating. We walked twice to the quaint historic town of Stuart and enjoyed the Riverwalk very much. Another day, we drove across to the beach, but unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. There's a funky Mexican restaurant on the main drag and offer nightly specials. For $10 we were there for "all you can eat enchiladas". Very festive inside, but we should've asked more about the 2-4-1 margaritas, as they were $$$ which upped our tab considerably. Another night, we ate a the local China Buffet, which was in a mall area close by. Got there early and everything was fresh, even had sushi. Obviously, we are budget travellers but were thrilled with the town, friendly locals and exceptional hotel.

“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

This is a traditional Best Western motel with benefits. It's not on the beach but a very short drive. The beach was uncrowded, shells for picking, a manatee swam in the surf, good seafood restaurants on the waterfront. The pool is heated and rooms are generous. The free breakfast was great. Good stopover between Orlando and Miami.

Room Tip: first level north side (to the left of the check in.) quiet.

“Short stay en route to Miami”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

My husband and I stayed over night in Best Western in Stuart when were were driving from Orlando to Miami. The room we stayed at was average. I have no complaints about this hotel aside from the pillows, they were too firm for my preference. The room was clean and it has a small fridge and microwave.
