If you are not traveling with a pet and want a quiet night--do not stay here! This hotel does not have a floor or set of rooms away from pets for anyone with allergies or who might want a quiet night. A dog started barking and then the whole wing followed-- during day and night!
We complained to the Gen Mgr. Adam, suggesting that he keep an area for non-pet people-- he did not say he'd do that!--- all rooms are for pets
So-- we were forced to move!--- we love pets , but this was ridiculous!
Check La Quintas before staying and ask if they have a floor or 'wing' that is pet-free, if you want to be sure.

We are members of La Quinta rewards we have the visa card and know that if we are at a La Quinta we will have a new bed and a great TV and an awesome Breakfast. However, This one was so beautiful it had wood floors with the mirror and a sitting room with It's own T.V. we drove a couple miles to watch the sunset and sit by the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions. Our motto is if in doubt start at La Quinta then look for something closer to the beach later. Especially when the hotels are super old and you just don't know. I would rather drive to the beach and be comfortable and safe at La Quinta

We stayed here for one night and were very impressed from first sight. Architecture looks like Old Sarasota...wood floors, wonderful entrance under portico. Our greeting was sincerely friendly and the room was impressively clean and decorated for the money we paid. Chose it because it was close to the Ringling Museum. Recently joined the La Quinta Pass program because of this hotel. Sure we could have paid another $100 for a more upscale hotel, but for the extra we saved, we dined out at a local fish place and felt very smug in the process!
