I am writing this review in the middle of a two month stay at the complex. We leave the end of March 2009.

TImberwoods Villas is a complex of 114 individually owned vacation villas. One books a reservation either through the office or privately, either through a real estate office or from the owner directly, depending upon arrangements the owner has made. Because the villas are individually owned, decor and amenities vary. Each villa is 1344 square feet and has two bedrooms, two baths, full kitchens and a lanai. The complex has a club house with a heated pool and hot tub. There are weekly get togethers with guests arranged by the complex, as well as events such as Valentine's Day parties, St Patrick Days Parties, etc.

The setting of Timberwoods is superb. It is wooded and set back from the road. The outside condition of the villas is excellent, as one would expect from properties that are individually owned.

The clientele is mostly retired people, with the usual visits from friends and family during school breaks, etc. That said, there are a number of villas (such as our neighbours) that are occupied by owners on a permanent basis - it is their home!

I strongly recommend Timberwoods. This is our first year here, but it will not be our last.

After looking around for a decent priced place we found out about Timberwoods from the local tourist information office. After looking at the place we thought 'looks expensive'. We rang the office when it opened and was surprised to find out how cheap it was as it was our first stay there. The villas themselves are everything you could ask for. They are very spacious and full of everything you could require for a self catering holiday. There was only the 2 of us and we had ample room and even if you went with 2 or 3 children you would still have lots of room. All of the villas are 2 bedroomed and 2 bathrooms with a washing machine,tumble drier and dishwasher.
The staff were brilliant and couldnt have been more accomodating to us. Thank you Diane!!!
The pool was clean and warm and the hottub was lovely. There are also tennis courts, a putting green, table tennis and a small basketball hoop. In the clubhouse there is a small library where you can swap books and also games, pool table and puzzles in case the weather isnt brilliant but the mall next door is great for bad weather times and shopping!!!
We had a fantastic time at Timberwoods and would definately recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to stay.
Saying that there was not a lot of children there it seemed more like a retirement complex. But on weekends there where a few more children there probably visiting grandparents.

My family and I have been visiting the Sarasota area for the last several years. We took a chance on an internet deal for the Timberland Woods Villas in May of 2003. We found the accomodations to be very well maintained,spacious with beautiful -peaceful grounds surrounding the villas. We enjoyed the spot so much we purchased one of the villas for our retirement! Loved it!!!!!
