Overall this is an above average hotel that we stay in regularly from 8 to 10 days at a time annually. Breakfast is good and they even include dinner on Mondays through Thursday.
The staff goes from poor to good to excellent depending on who you deal with.
My reservation that was made 6 months earlier was disastrous. A section of the hotel that we always stay in and which we specifically asked for was not available so we had to stay in room for one night and move the next day. Spoke with the GM April Warren who seemed to be more concerned with what a great rate I received for my stay then to show any kind of concern for the inconvenience. Besides that she certainly does not come across as a people person, no smile and not friendly.
On the other hand the maintenance dept headed by Willie does an excellent job in responding to any problems.
The house cleaning is the luck of the draw. Maria Luna usually cleans our room and does an excellent job however when she has days off it can be anywhere from adequate to a disaster. One night there were cleaning people still doing rooms around 6PM which would not be so bad except that it sounded like they were have a party yelling and slamming doors.
Another excellent employee who is friendly and personable is Sharon Byrwa the Director of Sales. Stops to greet and speak with guests but Ms. Warren is never to be found.
Also the upgrade to LCD TV was a welcomed change.

Stayed three nights at end of our vacation in Florida and wish we could have been there longer. Great room with lots of room and good kitchen facilities, comfortable beds and new flatscreen tv.
Slightly odd layout which was confusing at first.
Loved the excellent free breakfast and pleasantly surprised by the complimentary food and drinks offered in the evening.
Would stay here again.

We live an hour away from Sarasota but love spending the night. This Homewood Suites was very clean and well-cared for. They don't misrepresent themselves as a beach hotel, but it is located in the city and a short fifteen minute ride to the beach, but not to far from dining, movies, etc. The pool and hot tub were nice and the complimentary breakfast was FABULOUS! Great place for families... My only complaint was the parking - if you're out passed 9 pm, you're forced to park a bit far from your room, but we felt safe and would return.

Just got back from here and I have to say that the homewood is pretty good. The service is good, the free breakfast was good and the nightly dinners (mon.-thurs.) were very good and changed nightly. The suite that I had was very nice with a seperate sitting area, full fridge, microwave, and a small stove. Overall good stay, you can't go wrong here.
