My sister and I spent 3 days here, and it was lovely. We were upgraded from second floor rooms to the third floor, which had a lovely view of the sand dunes and the water beyond. The water was cobalt blue and turquoise and calm. The sand was the whitest I have ever seen, so white that in my photos it looks like snow. Each room has a balcony with two adirondack chairs and a sofa and chair and ottoman inside the rooms. The king beds are extremely comfortable with feather beds under the sheets.
Showers in the bathrooms have windows about 4 1/2 feet off the ground which look into the bedroom area. If you are at all modest and worry about a tall companion peeking in, then you might be bothered by this. For example, if you are traveling with a teenager, he or she might be hesitant to take a shower with a parent in the room. I loved having the light come into the shower.
Since it was off-season, the only dining room available for breakfast was a small place off of the lobby. The breakfast, which was included in our rate, was delicious. The omelettes and French toast were wonderful, and every plate that came out of the kitchen looked beautiful. We had sushi one night in the same restaurant, and I was not impressed. The rice was a bit dry. The next evening we went down the street to Bud and Alleys, which had superb food in an informal setting. The crabcakes were pure crab--no fillers--and huge chunks came off on my fork. It was so good, we went back a second time. The homemade soups were delicious as well.
Because it was off-season and chilly, we did not use the pools, but they looked lovely. There is a small adults-only pool outside of the lobby and a large pool for families next door. One of the nicest things about this place is that there are no high rise buildings for miles. The development consists of lovely 3 story homes with beautiful landscaping around the homes and the resort. This is a lovely place, well kept up and quiet. I would go back. Ask for a room that has a view of the water. I would not have been as happy with the dune view rooms.
