Keep in mind that (most?) these units are privately owned, so the furniture and appliances will vary greatly from one to the next. I've read some of the bad reviews here and I guess we had better luck. My only complaint was a microwave that did not work and could not be replaced immediately due to having to contact the owner and make him buy one, which is understandable. The shower was a little clogged, but if everyone else comes back as full of sand as we were then it would also be understandable! This area of Sanibel is very quiet at night which was great! Overall, great value for an excellent location. The beaches right in front are just great, some of the best!
The staff was great and very accommodating and the military discount is a way to keep me coming back.

We have been staying at least once a year and sometimes 2 or 3 times for the last 9 years! Sanibel Arms West is a great place to stay, my family grew up going there. We feel relaxed and it is so laid back!! Great for the price

We have been visiting Sanibel for 14 years, stayed in many condo,s and every hotel , Until we found Sanibel Arms West 7 years ago, You would think you were at a 5 star resort! The service is outstanding we always felt so welcome , Steve the general mgr
runs the condos to perfection, Kenny has everything looking like a magazine cover, Lissette & Lindsey run the office with smiles and a big welcome mat, They made every vacation perfect!!! We just moved here from Mass, only 5 miles away but will still be spending long weekends and sending all our visitors to Sanibel Arms West ,
This is my first post on this sight but if you put a high standard on you money and you vacation time it's the only place to visit, but be careful you'll keep going back again and again

I recently returned from my 5th stay at Sanibel Arms West and I'm already trying to think of an excuse to go back.

The Positive:
Staff: From the time I step in the onsite office and hear a cheerful "welcome back" from Steve until I leave and hear "see you next time" from one of the girls, the staff is pleasant, helpful and easy to deal with.

Location: Amazing! Right on the beach and right on the bike path.

Landscaping: Well manicured throughout the complex with the exception of a stretch between the beach and the condo which is left natural and unspoiled. The untouched area is my absolute favorite part of the landscaping.

Pool: Screened in with lots of seating area. I'm too much of a beach person to use it much but it is available.

Condo: Individually owned so the interiors differ. All the condos I have rented have been well stocked and included washer and dryers. I usually trust the staff to pick me out a nice one and they haven't let me down yet. Each Condo has 2 screened in Lanais. When I am not on the beach I am relaxing on the Lanai. Only once did I have a very small problem with my condo and it was attended to in minutes.

Atmosphere: Very family friendly, very quiet at night.

Extras: 2 very nice grills by the pool, shell and foot wash stations by every path from the beach,shell identification chart on the middle path, tennis courts and boat dock.

Cons:
hmmmmmm let me think......hmmm let me think.....I guess it would be that I have to leave.
