We have been owners here at this timeshare facility for more than a quarter century and now own five weeks in the December/January period. As other recent reviewers have said, Tortuga Beach Club is incredibly beautiful in terms of landscaping, particularly well located near the Causeway from the mainland, and, most importantly to us, wonderfully well managed by Betsy and her staff, many of whom have been here for many years. Any thing that isn't right gets fixed immediately. Looking out of our porch over the palm trees to the Gulf of Mexico is soothing and lovely. Friends and we just spent a morning on the porch chatting about life and marveling about this paradisiacal place. Whether it is going to the beach, sitting at the pool, playing shuffleboard with one's grandchildren, enjoying JoAnne's root-beer floats, borrowing a book from the office, or simply relaxing, if not going to the fabulous Sanibel Public Library, it is all good. We are about to leave and only have eleven months before we can come back!!

My husband and I purchased a timeshare unit for one week in December at the beautiful Tortuga Beach Club in 1984. Since then, we have purchased 2 more units. This is our home-away-from-home over Christmas! This resort surpasses all other timeshare resorts, or any other type of resort that my family has ever vacationed at. The management at Tortuga Beach Club makes sure that this resort is well maintained, that the grounds and the condos are kept in pristine condition, and that the everything about the resort is clean and up to date. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is one of the few resort on Sanibel Island that still has organized recreation activities, geared for the kids, but also fun for the adults. The resort sits right on the beautiful beaches of Sanibel Island, and also includes a nice size swimming pool and hot tub and great tennis courts. Your stay at Tortuga comes with The Dunes Golf Cub agreement, which includes golf and tennis privileges. This resort is easily accessible to your entrance onto the Island, and is close to restaurants and shopping. It is difficult to trade into this resort, as the owners rarely trade out. But if you have the good fortune to get to stay a week or more at TBC, you will want to be an owner too!

We have owned at Tortuga Beach Club, a Hilton interval ownership resort, since 1986. Our kids "grew up" here each year learning about Sanibel, playing tennis and golf, thanks to Tortuga's agreement with the Dunes Golf and CC.

Tortuga Beach Club is gorgeous...centrally located on Sanibel and directly on the Gulf of Mexico, beautifully decorated, fantastic scenery, lush vegetation...and the friendliest, most competent staff we have ever encountered. The units are well kept and constantly updated , according to a well conceived business plan.
Betsy Cain, mgr, and her staff are THE BESTin the business. They could teach a course on resort management.
Many owners return every year to Tortuga but if you are fortunate enough to secure a rental, trade a week, or better yet, purchase a week or two, do so! You'll never regret your decision. Paradise is waiting.

We stayed in a corner condo, closest to the beach, and it was awesome! Clean with wonderful views! Everything you needed was provided. The condo took up 2 floors. Alot of stairs, so if you unable to do the climb, inside and out, make sure you make arrangments ahead of time. I think there was close to 50 steps just to get to the front door. The condo had nice furnishings. I can't wait to go back!
