Pointe Santo C25 - Royal Shell Vacations - Al Dowd owner
If you are thinking about renting or buying condo C25 you must read this.
We have been coming to Sanibel to escape the cold weather for 10 years. We have stayed at Pointe Santo for 8 years. This is a beautiful place to stay and we love it here. We have not had problems of this degree at any other condo. We paid over $ 4,200.00 to Royal Shell Vacations for 2 weeks rental of condo C25. The owner is Al Dowd and it appears that he owns other condos here. I would assume that they are in the same condition.
When we entered the unit we noticed that the overhead light covers were stained, cracked with holes and not installed correctly. The black base molding was missing at the dish washer. The stove drawer side panel was missing. The cabinets are white Formica. This is Ok except they had a large chips missing and the large door will not close.
As we went thru the condo we saw that this unit was in need of a complete renovation. We were not expecting to find this C25 condo that we paid over $ 4,200 to be in such bad condition.
We want to inform others about this unit C25 and any other unit that is owned by Al Dowd. It is also disappointing to realize that Royal Shell Vacations has not inspected this unit.
Other things that we have found in poor condition are. (It looks like a Hotel Six) The furniture in the large bedroom is cheap and broken. The bath rooms are the worst. The sink drain is cracked and black. (not sure if it is mold or not) The chrome faucets are badly pitted. Some are crumbling and coming apart. There is a hole in one tub and the other has a crack in it. The chalk around the faucets is gone. They used the spray foam to fill the gap and then cut it off. What a slightly mess. The drain plate is rusting badly. The chalking thru out the bath rooms is the worst I have ever seen.
We are still here at C25 and finding more things as use them. The blender has no center for the lid. Now the tub drain is clogged and we have 3 inches of water in the tub after our shower.
We notified Royal Shell Vacations and called the owner Al Dowd. Each one blamed the other. Al Dowd did not believe us and asked if they could send someone in to assess the condo. She came and took 25 pictures. Later a contractor called to ask if they could come and make some of the changes needed. We were not interested in using our vacation time for them to replace fixtures and paint and chalk. We have not heard from them since last week.
I now see that this unit C25 is listed For Sale on the internet.
