“Comfortable and well located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We have stayed in a cottage. The furniture are not amazing but everything is very clean and comfortable.
The place is very peaceful. If you come from Clearwater Beach, like us, you may, at a first sight, be disappointed by the beach as it is more wild. But later on, we enjoyed the tranquility of the place and we were delighted to walk at a peaceful pace, looking for shells.

Don't waste your time eating the breakfast basket : nothing good in it!

Very pleasant stay

“Ick”

Previously stayed here at the Seaside Inn, where in it's former life it was clean, well maintained and friendly. Now, the carpet is filthy, the bedding disgusting, and everything falling apart. I do not know what happened, but would not advise anyone to book this hotel until they get their act together again. Yes, it is on the most beautiful beach in the world, but so are three dozen other hotels. The most apologetic and kind night manager somewhat made up for the condition of his hotel, by expressing his condolences to us. Apparently we were not the first potential guests to be disgusted. We went down the road to another hotel where they obviously care about their guests. End of story.

Room Tip: Do not choose any room.

“Wonderful laid back, stress free place to stay”

I'll start off by saying that I've stayed at this location 10+ times in my life. Started going here back in the late 80's with my family as a kid. I loved this place so much that I'm now bringing my wife and kids here as well. Many changes to the rooms and decor over the years. It's been neat to see how it's evolved over the years, but at the same time stayed so much the same. You can still check out movies in the main office, borrow bikes for free to ride on the many bike trails on the island, use the beach chairs & umbrellas for free, enjoy a non crowded heated pool, etc.
If you are looking for a high luxury place to stay with all the amenities, night life, lots of stuff to do, and expect to be pampered on their vacation; this is not the place you are looking for. If you are looking for somewhere to get away from it all, enjoy a laid back atmosphere, non crowded beach and very friendly staff, then this is the place you want.

“Lovely setting”

We have just returned from a 3 day stay here, Our room had just had a new TV ,we thought it had only one channel until the very helpful maintenance man told us we were using the wrong remote! The breakfast was such a help ,delivered daily and more than enough to last untill lunch , yes the kitchen is small but quite enough to make tea and coffee ,large fridge for our wine! plenty of utensills. Lovely to be steps away from a lovely beach where there are sunbeds and umberellas provided. We also made plenty of use of the bikes which are free ,we cycled to Jerrys to collect sandwiches and salad ,to take back and sit on the balcony with our wine. The staff are so friendly and helpful especially Katie ,who very kindly took a dress home and got a very large stain out for me. This is a typical Sanibel hotel don,t come to Sanibel if you want large glitzy hotels , come if you want peace and tranquility .

“4 day get away”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We just came back from spending 4 days there. It was a very quiet property located steps from the beach. The staff was very friendly. When we checked into our room after traveling all day I discovered our kitchen was not equipped with even a glass, we had to hunt down the very helpful desk clerk to supply us with everything. He even had a hard time finding supplies. Then there wasn't even a coffee maker in the room, we had to find him again to supply us with one. The brand new television only had one station, no one could figure it out, the so called kitchen was so tiny you could barely make coffee & toast at the same time.Very under supplied kitchen. Also, it seems our room was the only room without a table so it was impossible to have a meal in our room. The location was excellent, rooms were minimal, I think I'll try another hotel when we go back.
