“A relaxing get away within easy walking distance to the fishing pier and beaches of sanibel”

The Parrot's Nest- what a wonderful place to roost! After a night of rest on Select Comfort mattresses you'll open your door to a tropical paradise where just beyond lies the island's best ice cream shop and delightful coconut candies. Sanibel's east end with it's lighthouse, fishing pier, and public beach are within easy walking distance from the Parrot's nest. Your hostess Brenda knows stuff, but she's far from stuffy. Her easy, personable style will make yu feel like family. We hope to migrate again to the Parrot's Nest.

“A quiet comfortable place for two”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for a quick getaway from the snow and cold of New England; chose this for the location, although this was our first time in Sanibel, and cuteness (reminded me of a 50's motel). It lived up to our expectation: clean, really!!! comfortable bed, quaint room (although a bit dark), and no problems that Brenda could not solve ("she knows her stuff"). Not a single whiff of smoke within 1/4 mile.

At one time, it looked like it had a pool; no longer, but not on our list (mini golf course, instead) The walk to the beach was a short hike, but the day was so beautiful that it was part of the charm of the location, being on the end of the island (1/4 mile to lighthouse), it tended to have less traffic and noise. Besides, Pinocchio's is across the street (truck in the morning to wake you up).

Considering the cost to stay on the island, this was a good value, based on what you wanted from the stay.

“Ideal quiet cottage for our getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2010

Brenda set us up with a nice cottage for our five-day stay on Sanibel, and we were pleasantly surprised by all the amenities in the little cottage. We ended up cooking several meals at home, and eating breakfast out on our private patio. We found beach towels, umbrella, chairs, etc all in the laundry room for our beach trips, and even played a round of mini-golf one night.

We came on the off season, so barely saw any other guests, and didn't actually meet Brenda-- very laid back and cheerful on the phone, though. This was a great base for our Sanibel adventures.

“Very peaceful and relaxing and fairly close to the beach”

My spouse and I and another couple stayed here for 3 nights to unwind after our week in Key West. We loved the Parrot Nest - it was a great way to spend the last few days of our vacation. I really wish it had a pool, though. This was our first time in Sanibel so we really didn't know what to expect. Although I really enjoyed our stay here, and the walk to the beach was only a little over a quarter of a mile, next time I think we'll look for a place that is closer to the beach and has a view of the gulf, as well as a pool. I know it will be more expensive, but for me the whole reason to visit Sanibel is the beach.

“"OUR LITTLE NESTING PLACE"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

Finally..., we found a place for our romantic and peaceful getaways. We were referred by another couple who told us about the "Parrot Nest" and we just had to see it for ourselves! If you love the beach and sun, you will love this Island getaway. With only 5 min walk to the beach and 4 min walk to the Intercoastal, you can't help feeling like a "native islander". Go fishing, swimming, and sunning or just hang-out in a two-person hammock under the trees. The rooms were spacious and clean and the service was excellent. You cannot go wrong choosing this cozy little getaway. Ask for mama parrot. Tell her Vickie & Ted sent you.
