I stayed at the Comfort Inn-North on 54th St. in St. Petersburg on October 20, 2011. When I woke up in the morning, I found that I had been attacked by bedbugs. The white sheets were spotted with blood from crushed bedbugs, there were engorged bedbugs actively moving on the bed, as well as old exoskeletons amongst the sheets. I collected one of the exoskeletons in a sealed plastic bag and took it with me as evidence.
I told the people at the front desk that I had been attacked and they did not even offer a simple "sorry."
I submitted comments to the Comfort Inn customer service website and did not receive a reply for five days.
On October 27th, the General Manager of the hotel emailed me and said that he and his staff had checked the room and found no insects.
I have over 50 bedbug bites across my arms, legs, and torso. I had to decontaminate my clothing, luggage, shoes and purse when I got home from the hotel. The experience of having been attacked by bedbugs was bad enough, but the General Managers lack of concern was even more upsetting.

Stayed at the Comfort Inn North for one night after the Rays / Yankees game at Tropicana Field. Great location, not too close and not too far from the downtown parking lot where the stadium shuttle picks up. And because it's not directly in the city the room prices are reasonable. The room was fine, service was excellent and the free breakfast topped off a great stay eventhough the Yankees lost. I'll stay here again next time.

The rooms are good and clean. There is no wireless Internet, but there is RJ-45 Cable connected Internet in all the rooms. They do not have wireless Internet, since military and government employees often stay here; and they are not allowed to use wireless Internet connections on their classified laptops.

Large room, clean, RIGHT OFF 275, easy to get to and find, included breakfast - hard boiled eggs, waffles, and more. Would use again.
