were the nicest and friendiest people we stayed with on a 12 day trip to florida from ill. the rooms were excellent and dave the manager was also excellent.

We stayed here after our trip to Orlando to visit a family friend, who actually paid for our stay. This hotel is located right off the I-275 and right next door is a Cracker Barrell. For being close to the Interstate, it's a quiet hotel, but lighting in the parking lot is darker than we're used to. It's a clean hotel that has a free breakfast downstairs that serves hot and cold breakfast.
If you are staying here, it's basically a hotel just to rest up in and go. There is not too much that you can really do around the immediate area, and to get around you would have to fight traffic. The closest we got to shopping was in Seminole and also near Gandy, but as for the immediate area we didn't see a lot to do. We had a comfortable evening sleeping there. The televisions are dated... the old tube tvs, and they do have a microwave and refridgerator in each room. The bathrooms were clean, but around the corners were mold spots and even a hand print on the shower wall.
Overall, it was a nice stay. The hotel is decent and easy access to the Interstate. We didn't eat downstairs, but we walked to Cracker Barrell.

Hotel is quite convenient, right off the highway. The rooms are large, quiet, and comfortable. Unfortunately, our keys did not work with our door and this happened three different times, each time necessitating a trip back down to the lobby in the elevator and waiting until a clerk could rescan the keys.

In addition, it seems that the hotel building is old, with recent renovations; the bathroom tile area and floor were old and stained, for example. The bedding is, however, quite nice.

Holiday Inn Express also offers a free, hot breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately, the device which is used to keep the hot food hot does not really work effectively, with the result that the food there is often barely warm--room temp eggs anyone? In addition, one morning, there was barely any food there and what was there was shriveled up and barely edible. The hotel needs to do a better job of providing refreshed food much more often to ensure a reasonable quality.

However, for the price, this is an excellent option for St. Petersburg. One can always go to the Cracker Barrel next door for a terrific breakfast.

We will likely stay here again.

Came to St. Petersburg for the Tampa Bay Rays game and stayed at this hotel which is located right off of Interstate 275. The hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the game which was very convenient . The rooms were comfortable and the business center was quiet and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent and the staff at the front desk were very helpful. Definitely will vist this hotel again!
