Nice property. Older property with character, more like a bed and breakfast. Good location close to downtown and The Pier. Attentive staff. Decent continental breakfast each morning. Did not get a chance to have a cooked meal there. While we there, there was a small Sweet Sixteen party there on a Ghost Tour looking for evidence the property was haunted. Like a said, character.

We spent 5 days at The Pier over the New Year holiday and it was just great. We spent last New Years there as well and was once again very happy with the experience. The new owners are so nice and accommodating. You can tell they are really putting in a lot of work and effort. The staff was friendly and helpful. We love Jane! The addition of a full kitchen was great. But they still have the continental breakfast bar and happy hour as well. We had a superb dinner on the porch and the mango key line pie was amazing.
Honestly, I can't wait to go back. You can not beat the location and homey feel to the place. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous. If you're looking for a Hilton experience, don't book here. If you're looking for a cozy fun experience, you must try The Pier.

I would rather stay at home than visit Pier Hotel again. We arrived the day the hotel had made an offer through Groupon. Jane spent her afternoon answering the phone, was grumpy about having to put drinks out as the phone kept interrupting. Poorly upgraded, hotel's only redeeming feature that it was close to downtown restaurants and Saturday market.

The hotel is more like a bed and breakfast than modern hotels with cookie cutter rooms. The rooms are small and cozy like you would expect from an older building. The staff is kind and attentive. I would definitly take advantage of the food offered on site it is as good as or better than the surrounding restraunts (and there are several restraunts, bars, and shops within walking distance) My husband and I enjoyed visiting the Pier and the Museum of Fine Arts both within walking distance.
