“Postcard inn 2 night stay!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Just left the Postcard in and stayed two nights. Staff very nice, friendly and helpful. Property funky and fun, live music good, coffee bar good, next door restaurant good. Pool real warm and easy access from bottom floor garden area. The only problem we had was barking dog, had to change rooms, 2nd night had to move to another room as well because someone had booked it so we did have to move twice which was annoying. Rooms were stuffing and warm and a/c did not work well. In the morning toilets wouldn't flush and we were told by staff having a water line problem in St. Pete Beach so use the lobby toilet. The rooms did have a funny smell to them..like a hospital smell so not sure if it is the cleaning products they use, but it wasn't a nice clean fresh smell. Room was clean though. Door locks and I think doors need to be replaced they are really funky and I saw numerous other guests having problems opening their doors with the slide key. I personally would not go back, but it is retro, funky and a fun place.

Room Tip: Walls are thin and hotel use to be a Travel Lodge so not sure you will get a great room, it is funky...

Thanks for the review of your recent stay at PCI. Honest feedback from our guests is critically important, as it helps us understand where we're exceeding or falling short of guests' expectations. Hope to see you soon on a return visit.

“First the positive, then a reality check….”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

When I read some of these glowing reviews, I wonder if I stayed at the same hotel. The positives are the location on the beach, nice fire pit (which was NEVER available while we were there), and the huge hot tub. The lobby and lounge area also have a cool vibe with the retro furnishings and interesting décor. However, you are unlikely to be spending a great deal of time in the lobby and the rooms are subpar.
Now for the reality check. As has been mentioned by another traveler, our room in late January was way too warm and could not be cooled. When we mentioned this to the front desk, one of the staff came to our room and made some pretence of lowering the thermostat and opening a vent. It is apparent that the hotel cheaps out by keeping the main controls cranked up and the rooms cannot be cooled with a room thermostat change.
Another problem was the room and view. We asked for a quiet room and got a really great view of the parking lot and neighboring lot and dumpster. There was no hairdryer in the room, the toilet is too close to the wall and the closet is in the bathroom, so the hangers are rusted.
We would never stay here again, as there are so many other options in the area. The next day we drove to Siesta Key where for the same money we had a room within a few steps of the beach, a fantastic updated décor, and a small kitchen. Save yourself the hassle and just drop by to look at the lobby, have a drink at the bar, and then move on to better digs.

While I was delighted to learn that some or our services did meet your expectations, I was disturbed to hear that others did not. We do attempt , to the best of our abililty, to provide our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would love the opportunity for you to give us another try.

“Bring a fan”

I know we went in a hot month, but a/c could not keep room comfortable. There was a thermostat on the wall but it had no effect. Staff did provide a 6 inch fan/heater that had no effect. I was told the regular fans were being used, so it was a problem throughout the hotel. Otherwise, nice clean rooms that had flare. Grounds were nice, good tiki bar.

“Best day of my life!”

We had our wedding here in January and the staff helped make it perfect.
Our guest have all commented how they had so much fun. Some are making plans just to come back on their own to enjoy the hotel. We had guest ranging in age from 1 to 88 an all had a great time!

Room Tip: Grab a poolside suite! If staying during the winter, ask the front desk for a heater.

“Out of the ordinary.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed at this inn with my friend visiting from out of town. It was winter in Florida but the beach and weather were quite nice. This hotel has a nice, funky feel to it, with retro furnishings and a surf-themed decor. The lobby, lounge and restaurant show unfinished wood furniture and polished concrete floors, eccletic lighting and lots of kitschy pictures from the 50s, 60s etc. These themes continue into the rooms where there is a surfboard and old-style furnitue. It is all done very tastefully, and everything is functional. Nothing is over the top; the food is very good, tasteful spinoffs on basic favorites such as barb b que and burgers etc. The pool, garden and beach bar are awesome and all the rooms surround one of them. The beach bar had a lively crowd on Sun afternoon and for sunset and then cleared out after dark rather quickly. The pool and 2 small gyms were clean and nice. Prices were reasonable for beach bar and rooms were large. What i really liked about this place is its uniqueness. In this part of the beach you usually only get 1) large mega-hotels, which have a generic feel, or 2) small mom and pop places that are really run-down and over-priced for what you get. I feel the PCI has it all! Recommend without reservation!

Room Tip: Garden rooms are large and are quieter being away from pool and bar area.
