Tradewinds is a very family friendly resort on the beach. Your children can enjoy the "mile high slide," the obstacle course in the water, and playing on the beach or one of the pools on the resort. The resort has pedal boats, sand volleyball and a few other activities included in your resort fee. Cabanas are also included in the resort fee, so Mom and Dad can enjoy some R&R while the kids are busy! Tradewinds does have a "kids Club" (daycare filled with activities for the kids). They also have schedules activities at the main pool, ie belly flop contest, card games, hula hoop contests etc, for children and any adults who are brave enough.
There is a pirate show for kids, but it seems kind of scary and strange to me. It is not the most wholesome performance I have seen. It is very loud and obnoxious!
The food is average. We have found some wonderful resaurants close by. Verducci's is authentic Italian, which has handmade pasta and homemade bread, everything is made fresh and amazing! Vito&Michael's is fabulous pizza, open until 3am every night. Beverly's has the best breakfast around. Publix grocery and a dollare store are within walking distance of the resort, for extra sunscreen or anything you might of forgotten to bring with you.
Tradewinds is a great family getaway!
