“Way past it's prime”

A very old property- our condo has seen better days. For the money, it is overpriced. Very noisy, thin walls. Very poor sleep quality, noise from road and other people. Crummy blinds do nothing to block out the outside lights at night. Would not recommend. There is nothing major wrong, but it would be better to look elsewhere. The hot tub will only hold 2 people comfortably. The pool is tiny.

“Gulf Gate Resort #507 - Everything you need!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

We stayed at condo 507 and it is such a nice place. Everything you need is there
and the view from the balcony over the Boca Ciega Bay is stunning. The resort itself is really laid back and the people are very nice and helpful. It attracts people who are looking for peace and quiet and that creates the pleasant atmosphere. The pool/spa area is great, nice beds a room for everybody and the beach is so close by, clean and quiet.

“Excellent Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

We really had a nice stay at your lovely condo 507 It' nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The king size bed slept comfortably.
We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The fireworks were awesome .The parking place was perfect. Anna Marie at Gulf Gate Resort was so nice and friendly .We hope to come back again. Maybe next year as the weather was beautiful and so was looking out at the Bay. Thank you so much for letting us stay there.

Thanks again,
J & H

“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

This is our second stay at the Gulf Gate Resort in three years. We like this location because it is close to my husband's parents in St Petersburg.

We stayed in unit 101 and rented it through a private owner. His unit has a full kitchen, living room, 1 1/2 baths, and a bedroom with a king sized bed. There was a skimpy sofa bed in the living room for our fourteen year old daughter.

The kitchen and bathrooms could use a face lift as it appears they haven't been upgraded since the early 1980s. On the plus side, the king sized bed was relatively comfortable and the shower in the full bathroom was good. Also, we had a nice view of the gulf from the living room sliding glass door.

I would recommend this unit if you don't need to use the sofa bed for anything except sitting.

“The most beaufiful place you can imagine”

We rented condo 402 which is a 2 bedroom 2 bath gulf front condo. To begin with the unit was very clean. We were very impressed with how large it was. The condo has 2 balconies, one in the master bedroom and then it continues to the living room. The beds were comfortable and so was the living room furniture.

Gulf Gate is about 30 minutes from the Tampa Airport. It is a nice drive with not much traffic. A rental car is not needed, there are a ton of restaurants within walking distance along with souvenir shops. Publix grocery store is also within walking distance so you can stock up on some quick make foods.

The pool area is perfect. The pool is a great size and there are plenty of beach chairs to sit on while you are taking a break from the pool or jacuzzi. There are 2 bbq grills in that area so it's great to have some burgers or hotdogs as a quick cheap lunch.

The beach, well omg what can i say. It is a short walk from the condo, right out the pool area. The water is clear and calm. The beach is clean and it is not crowded. We enjoyed our time out there. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas but we chose to save money and use the beach chairs in the condo. It wasn't a hard walk carrying the chairs to the beach.

The sunsets from our balcony were the most amazing thing to watch. It is a gift from heaven!!!

If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me. Our trip was from May 1, 2010 to May 8, 2010
