We have been to this property many times over the years, the most recent was back in August (2011). We always stay in one of two rooms (either 401 or 501). Most of our experiences are in room 401. These rooms feature TRULY EXTRAORDINARY panoramic views of pretty much the entire gulf coast there at St. Pete. That's the good side.

The bad side is that these rooms have progressively become less and less well-maintained over the years. I'd say it is pretty much a dump right now.

Aside from being unclean, it is also needing A LOT of fixes:

1. Both screen doors have the screen falling out.
2. One of the chaise lounges needed repair.
3. The showers were pathetically dirty and mildewed.
4. The refrigerator has rusty shelves.
5. The TV must date from 1986 or something.
6. The DVD player did not work.
7. Pieces of wood trim were missing from the floor.
8. The bathroom toilet paper dispenser was missing!
9. And, on our last night, a large cockroach flew over and landed on me as I was sitting on the couch! Delightful!

Don't believe a word of anyone who says this place is clean. It isn't. This place is sadly in need of renovation, but the views truly are incomparable.

We stayed in a Gulf Front Unit on the 5th floor from November 11 - 16th. The landscaping, pool & grounds are meticulous. Our unit was dated and in need of TLC. We have been staying at the Gulf Strand for 6 years returning every November. We have met the most wonderful people here and reunited with them every November. The beach is absolutely the best!
Shopping directly accross the street and restaurant selection is excellent. We enjoyed meeting Basha(office) and would like to thank her for her hospitality upon check in and check out. We will definetly return next November to an updated Gulf Front unit.

My husband and I come here two to three times a year ...so far nothing compares to the Gulf strand the Condo was so comfortable everything you needed and then some was there I would recommend this over and over and will stay there again

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at the Gulf Strand Resorts. The condo looks even better in person. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. We are coming back some time this winter. Really Enjoyed my stay!!! Renee- New York
