We where down here on the Fourth of July weekend without reservations, luckily we where able to stay here for one night. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The hotel is two blocks from the beautiful beach, what an amazing location!! The pool is very straight forward, but they do have one. The room was cute, (It could be super cute if they would update the linens, and curtains!!) It did have a brand new nice kitchenette, if you would like to use it. The beds where ok, the linens a little worn, and the towels a little worn. The room, hotel and grounds where all extremely neat and clean. The air-conditioner ran constantly and it never did get super cool in the room, but they did have one and it did work. The TV was a little hard to see if you where lying in bed, do to its location in the room. There are plenty of parking places to accommodate all the guests. There are about three restaurants with in walking distance. The Sloppy Pelican has wonderful food, drinks, and a great deck with live music. I would stay here again; it is clean, nice, convenient, wonderful location, friendly staff, and price friendly.

Motel was pretty clean - we got the large efficiency. The bathroom was nice with a tub/shower unit, but the sink/toilet area a little small. The mirror had this film that made it hard to see yourself. It wasn't dirty - just old. We made breakfast and lunch in the room and ate dinner out. The refrigerator was a little small and the freezer inadequate, but the room worked for the little time we spend in it. The pool area was really nice, water was relaxing. This place is only a super short walk to the beach, and has plenty of parking. I would definitely stay here again for the reasonable price.

This is not for someone who likes to stay at chain motels or hotels. It's basic. Our room was very large with kitchenette. Our television could have been newer but it worked. The bed sloped a little. That said, it was clean, the price was right, and its location was just what we were looking for. It was off the main road and we didn't hear traffic noise. Across the street and one block down was a wonderful beach; and around the corner were 3 restaurants that were walkable - one a hangout with an great outdoor deck facing the water (with great fish tacos) - two a little more family oriented where the food was okay, not great.

Best of all, for us, we were about 6 miles from Fort Desoto which was close enough to make our picture taking by sunrise much easier than had we been in St. Petersberg itself.

The owners say they are in the process of spiffing the place up which is a good thing, but sloping bed and all, we'd go back for reasons listed above.

We were upgraded to an apartment, more than enough room. The place was clean and well-cared for. Yes, it's older and funky but a delightful bargain. The pool was perfect, the location quiet and so close to the beach. We were very comfortable, the kitchen was wonderful. There are nearby eating places and it's centerally located to everywhere you want to go. A great value!!
