In St Pete to visit relatives, but first time staying here. The room was spotless, well appointed. The room I reserved (an efficiency studio) was unavailable so I was upgraded (no added charge) to a bayside room with full kitchen, a patio and lovely sunrise views over the water. I had difficulty setting the heater speed so left a note in the room. A phone call from management and they took care of it right away. The room had been thoroughly renovated -- new everything throughout, so don't let the outside look of an older place put you off. Towels were new and fluffy as well. There is a fishing dock, barbeque grill, palapa roofed picnic area over the water, nice pool, etc. All the staff was friendly. Next door is a great Italian Restaurant, Gigi's. Even better is the Italian Bakery --- mmmm with lattes for breakfast, great breads, etc. The beach is across the street. Only con was the bed was a little hard -- I should have asked if they had a foam pad to put on it; next time I will.

We love St. Pete Beach! Quiet and within walking distance to stores and restraunts. The beach is awesome! This is our 2nd vistit. We stayed both times at the Plaza Resorts. We stayed in the BayView due to enjoying the quiet and fishing pier. This time however we didn't know about the change with "pet friendly". We were kept awake on 2 of the 5 nights with dogs either whinning or barking. The dogs were out on the pier on a regular basis. (We own a dog but do not travel with her.) We definitely won't stay there again. :( Sorry. We had such a wonderful time on our 1st visit making this one disappointing.

Visited St. Pete for the bowl game and had a good package downtown and wanted to stay on the Gulf instead. Found this to be well-priced and well-reviewed, and I see why. Got the 2-bed room with the bayfront patio and LOVED it.

The ability to go across the street to the beachfront hotel was a great option, and enjoyed the 4 o'clock happy hour ... And thanks for the beach chairs/towels ... at one point, I was doing my work with toes in the sand and an Internet signal to boot.

Just one thing: For the life of me, I was not able to figure out the remote-control heating/cooling unit. One night I froze, one I roasted and the other two I sort of got right.

Having the Italian restaurant/bakery next door was a plus; ditto the 24-hour Walgreens.

I have stayed at all three properties of this privately owned resort hotel. This visit, my first to the Bayview Plaza was a pleasure. The room was spacious,very clean,modern and newly renovated. There is free parking near the room, free WIFI, a nice kitchenette and refrigertor and a flat screen TV with DVD player. The beach is across the street. The pool at this property was small but very clean and heated and not crowded.We also had access to a larger heated pool at the Plaza Beach Hotel across the street. Behind the hotel there are 2 docks for fishing, piknicking or just enjoying the sun.There are good restaurants in walking distance and an all night pharmacy about 100 feet away.A large shopping center with supermarket is also
closeby.
The daily (free) happy hour at 4-5PM with wine and beer is a fun way to meet other people staying at the hotel.
