“Nice place for a beach vacation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I read many mixed reviews about the Sirata. I was skeptical when I booked through Allegiant. Upon arriving, I was pleased with the resort. We stayed in a traditional room in Building 1. It was on the fourth floor with a nice view of the Gulf. There was no private balcony, but that wasn't an issue. The room appeared to have been updated within the past 5 years. There was also a mini-fridge in the room. The shower was okay for me (I'm 6'1"), but if you are taller than 6'3", you will probably have to watch your head in the shower. There is a walkway in front of the room so you will get some noise from passing guests. The pool was really nice with a decent bar that separates the pool area from the beach. I can't really complain about the Sirata. I've stayed in nicer places, but the Sirata was clean and that's what I was looking for.
Note: If you book through Allegiant, DO NOT PAY FOR PARKING! It's free!

Room Tip: 1412 was a nice room with a great view of the gulf.

“Got our room through Priceline blind deal...”

We were looking for a super price on a beach property somewhere between clearwater and st pete beach with at least their 3 star rating. I feel we got our moneys worth...and more, considering the price we paid. the pictures of the resort make it appear as though it faces the gulf, and that everyone has a private balcony... this is not the case. most rooms face north or south, no balcony and a view of the other rooms and parking lots. if that's not a deal breaker for you, your stay will be very nice. there is also an 8 dollars per day car charge, and free wifi only available in the office. for our mazingly low price we got a very nice room...a little suite actually. It's clean, fairly roomy, where is acceptable beds.... what needs to be great at a beach hotel, is! good beach nice cabanas great pools, fun bars, happy staff, and good restaurant food. if you are looking for a fun place to stay, and understand it's not the ritz... you will be satisfied. we are and I would come back here again.

“Great location, Motel 6 room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The Sirata Beach Resort is located on the beach. The room we had was a 1 1/2 star room, mainly because the bathroom was a tub long and about five feet across. This bathroom was the smallest bathroom I have ever seen. I tried to get a different room but I was told that this is the room that they give to Priceline users. I would have had to pay $20/day to up grade to a standard room. Mold was between the tiles and the bottom of the door was rotting.

Room Tip: try booking on line through the hotel

John, thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the location of the resort; it is a very popular area throughout the world. We do apologize that you were not pleased with the room – although you said it was mainly the bathroom. I have brought this to the attention of the housekeeping manager to ensure we continue with our high standards of cleanliness. Rooms are allocated upon arrival of the guest; therefore if we have someone check in at 10am and we have 1 room available, we will check the guest into that room. We do have 19 different room types at the resort and advise that if you are unsure of the room you have booked to contact us directly and we will be more than happy to help. Upgrades may also be available for an additional fee.

“Looks can be deceiving . . .”

Had a conference at the Sirata last week . . . this place needs a MAJOR overhaul . . .

While it is adequate, I would not call this place a resort . . . the rooms are pretty dingy . . . got into my room and felt like I had been thrust back into the 70's . . . maybe this is OK for the older crowd, but if they want to attract a younger following, they need to clean up their act. If I was bringing family I would go up the road to the Doubletree . . .

Harry's bar was fine, though I don't understand why they would close it at 11 . . . especially when there are 15 people sitting at the fire pit.

Restaurant was mediocre . . . The breakfast buffett was nice, but dinner was so-so, and I can't understand why they would have an event, yet ask the bartender to both serve and pour drinks . . .

Beach was nice, but that had to do with Mother Nature, not the Sirata.

I'm sure some might like this place . . . but its on the edge of being a Spring Break tyoe of establishment . . . not re-investing in the property.

Room Tip: Insist on water view . . . its a waste to look at the courtyard, especially when the play is viruall...

“Great Views - Great Meals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Stayed at the Sirata for 3 nights for a conference in late January - I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews on TA, but the property exceeded my expectations. I was in a very spacious room in building 4 - came with a kitchen with small sitting area and a seperate sleeping room. The bathroom was a little outdated, but the room was clean, the maid service was prompt and the full size fridge was a nice bonus!

The beach access is incredible, just a stroll from my room and the views and service at Harry's Beach Bar was a great way to end our busy days. All of our meals were served buffet style but the food was fresh, plentiful and seemed like it was well received by everyone at the conference.

The staff was very friendly and I had a great experience!
