“It's okay, I guess?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Positive:
Free parking
Free breakfast (thanks to the coupons, otherwise it's $8.95/ person)
Adjustable bed firmness/softness
Free internet
Near the pier

Negative:
Poor arrangement of room furniture. Extra large room but our king bed was cramped in a corner near the front door, and maybe dancers would appreciate the openness of the middle of the room but to us, that felt strange.
Like other reviews said, the bathroom door was annoying.
Dusty vent in the bathroom, overall the bathroom needs serious upkeep.

It felt like a Days Inn rather than a Hilton Garden Inn.This one was just not what we expected.

“Good value for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Stayed here one night on the way to the Gator Bowl. The motel was clean and seemed new. The breakfast buffet was good, especially the oat meal. Note that this hotel is not on the beach (very few are) and any view to the beach is obstructed and must be from the higher floors. There is beach access and the beach is beautiful, similar to that at Daytona, wide, hard packed, smooth sand.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get a room next to a service room, as the workers are very noisy and work in...

“Not what I expected from a Hilton.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We frequent the Hilton brand hotel family almost everytime we go somewhere. I think I would have rather have paid the extra money to stay elsewhere. It wasn't that it was horrible, but it just was not up to par with what it could have been. The person at the front desk was not overly friendly or anything and told us that our room wasn't ready, which was understandable as we arrived early. It was a typical hotel room. Parking was free and there was plenty of it so that was a plus as parking near downtown is at a premium. The bed was pretty comfortable. The next time we come here, we will be using a different hotel.

“Needs some upkeep”

Free Internet.
Free Parking
Sleep Timer

This is my first (and last time) at the hotel. It is "nice enough". However, there doesn't seem to be much attention to upkeep. The grouting around the bathtub is severely rusted. The wall paper in the bathroom is peeling - and not just a little. The carpet is discolored in several spots.

The room itself is very large! I stayed in 330 which is on a corner. Not sure if this room is bigger than others due to its location or if they are all this big. It is approx twice the size of a normal room.

The service is very good.

“Not impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn St. Augustine Beach in early December and had the king jacuzzi suite. Here are a few issues I had with the hotel.
1. The entrance to the hotel does not have automatic doors making bringing in luggage a bit challenging.
2. As one other reviewer noted the jacuzzi suite has shutters over the tub that limits privacy in the bathroom.
3. The bathroom door had a problem. I'd not sure if it was that it wasn't properly balanced or it had spring hinges but it would slam every time it closed.
4. The shower had a ratty wrinkled curtain with holes in it.
5. There is no where in the bathroom near the shower to hang a towel. I laid it over the shower curtain rod only for the rod to fall on me.
6. I went out to the pool area at 11 am and there were cups and glasses on a table even though the sign says "no glass allowed" but I know people can't follow instructions sometimes; but at 4pm went i went out there again they were still there. Seems to me someone would have checked the area in the 5 hrs between.
7. The afternoon we arrived housekeeping was still cleaning rooms at 5pm and later.
8. My husband picked up a coffee cup in our room and found lipstick on the rim.
I just get the feeling this hotel cuts corners that I don't usually see at other Hilton Garden Inns.

Room Tip: don't pick the jacuzzi suite if you want privacy in the bathroom
