My wife and I stayed at this property for Her company's Christmas Party. Although it was painful making the reservation (the hotel never really gave their lowest or best value rate at first Bad rate integrity), we arrived and none of our requests were honored when we checked in at first causing us to decline our original room assignment. Once this was straightened out we were assigned a room as was first requested (5 month advance reservation).
The room was spacious and had adequate seating and lighting, but there was a small spider and a bug in the closet. The bathroom with large shower was in working order and I liked the granite bar next to the bed. There was a coffee maker as well.
I was not impressed with the onsite Starbucks as it only offered regular coffee and few specialty drinks. The bar and gathering area in the lobby was nice. The pool (outside) and nearby Wold Golf Hall of Fame are nice, but that is all that is in the immediate area except for the Caddy Shack Restaurant (above average).
I did like the convenient shuttle to downtown St Augustine. It inspired us to move down the road to the King & Bear Golf Course for our second night at Laterra Resort a much better choice overall.
The serenity of the Laterra spa lifestyle and the ancient tradition of golf, the Laterra Resort at the King and Bear is lavish living at its best and much better service than the World Golf Renaissance.
