We bid on Priceline and got the Days Inn Historic for $52/nt ($60.80 with taxes). Frankly, we were not expecting much, we just hoped it would not be a complete dump. We pulled up to the motel, entered the nice lobby, was greeted promptly by a pleasant young lady. We had called and requested two beds and non smoking and were accommodated. We had our choice of upstairs or down, we chose down.
We could park right ourside our room (122). Our room adjoined with 124, if anyone needs that info. Our room, bathroom were spotless! We had two double beds with three pillows each, a desk, two chairs, dresser with big TV. The closet doors were mirrors (nice touch). The bathroom had a tub/shower and toilet. The dressing area had a sink with long counter, coffee pot, hair dryer, and electric outlets on both ends . . . handy for all those things we need to charge. In fact, there were plugs all around the room. We had an iron, board, and safe . . . and free wi-fi.
Breakfast was not included but we had a coffeemaker in the room and available in the lobby. A Denny's was onsite and we could get a 20% discount there. There was also a nice breakfast place right across the street.
We were close enough to the historic district that we could walk, which we did. We picked up our rent car in Jacksonville and when we returned it, we had only driven 165 miles (Jackson is one hour away)!
There was a really pretty pool but it was too cold to use (January). We loved this motel and its location. The price was very good, we were extremely pleased with the staff and our room. If we had to find fault, it would be that there were no grab bars in the bathroom, otherwise, it was a great place to stay.
