Do Not Stay Here -It is old, needs renovation. Smelled, old furniture, outside door badly in need of repair. Went across the street to Quality Inn - much better and cost less

We traveled to St. Augustine for Thanksgiving, and had booked at another hotel across the street. The other hotel was TERRIBLE! So bad that we video taped it, and left and demanded a refund. We were stuck looking for a last minute, reasonably priced hotel in a tourist town on a holiday. we found this Days Inn. Told them our story, and they found us two adjoining rooms. Gave us keycards and allowed us to inspect the rooms before paying them a nickel. We turned the rooms upside down looking for warning signs, but overall it was clean. The rooms were much cleaner than the previous hotel, and they were very reasonably priced. They accomodated us in a pinch. The counter girl was friendly, and very accomodating. Rooms were average, but comfortable enough to enjoy four days in them. Location is nice. There is a Denny's in the same building that gives a 20% discount to hotel guests. Nice coffee shop across the street.

I am far from someone who is hard to please. With that said, DO NOT STAY HERE! Very dirty, outdated hotel. We had a non-smoking room which adjoined with a smoking room. Our room was smokey until we finally put wet towels on the floor between the two rooms. There was a large gap on the door to our room. Daylight could easily be seen. Only good thing is this motel is within walking distance to the Historical District.

We were guests for 3 nights over Veterans Day 2011 weekend - it was definitely a "two in oner" (as my husband says) - first and last experience we will have there. It is most dated - somewhat tattered. We were placed in the 300 building (separate building on the back side of the parking lot) and were the only ones in that building the first night. We were never acknowledged as being Wyndham Rewards members. There were very few amenities - one small bottle of shampoo, one small bar of soap and had to walk all the way to the main building for ice. My husband rates a suitable motel by the quality of towels - these were threadbare and worn. We will definitely find another hotel/motel if we visit St Augustine again. We kept the air conditioner on high cool the entire time but only to keep air circulating - the cool did not work. The toilet ran continually if we didn't remember to jiggle the handle.
