“You get what you pay for....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

We were guests for 3 nights over Veterans Day 2011 weekend - it was definitely a "two in oner" (as my husband says) - first and last experience we will have there. It is most dated - somewhat tattered. We were placed in the 300 building (separate building on the back side of the parking lot) and were the only ones in that building the first night. We were never acknowledged as being Wyndham Rewards members. There were very few amenities - one small bottle of shampoo, one small bar of soap and had to walk all the way to the main building for ice. My husband rates a suitable motel by the quality of towels - these were threadbare and worn. We will definitely find another hotel/motel if we visit St Augustine again. We kept the air conditioner on high cool the entire time but only to keep air circulating - the cool did not work. The toilet ran continually if we didn't remember to jiggle the handle.

“It was ok for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

The room was ok, not the Ritz, but not bad for the price I suppose. The only complaint I have is that the water pressure and temperature were not good. The location was not bad, the sweet Asian girl at the front desk was very helpful. Everything you would like to visit is within walking or trolley distance. So my verdict would be ok if you are looking for a cheap getaway to learn about the origins of our country.

“Great Experience”

I took my daughter to St. Augustine to celebrate her 15th birthday. We selected the Days Inn due to its central location to all the sites. We arrived early on Saturday and Wendy at the front desk was very friendly and answered all my questions with a smile. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable after a long day of walking around the city. Having Denny's on site at the property was an added benefit as well. The service and quality was top notch. I would definately recommend the Days Inn to my family and friends.

“Do Not Stay Here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

We stayed one night here and it was disgusting! We killed 2 roaches while were were here. The room had a musky odor. The a/c hardly kept the room cool. The floors were so dirty that we stripped the blankets off the bed to keep from walking on the nasty carpet. There were shady kids walking around the outside of the hotel and hanging on the steps at night. The only good thing I could say is that it had free wi-fi.

I would like to apologize for your stay being anything less than satisfactory. We do have a contracted pest control company that services the hotel on a regular basis, however, we called them out to do another inspection of this room in particular as well as the rest rest of the hotel. All the carpets were washed by a specialized carpet cleaning company in May. The teenagers referred to in the above review were part of a suprvised group. When the head of the group became aware that they were walking around after their curfew, he took immediate action to get them back in their rooms. No complaints of misbehaviour were reported during their stay. All the airconditioners are serviced on a regular basis and the most recent service was early last week. We strive to maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Again I would like to apologize that you were unhappy during your stay.

“Roach Motel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

I have never stayed in a more disgusting hotel in my life. There was feces in our toilet, the shower had soap scum and visible dirt all over it, and there were roaches, yes big roaches crawling all over. I didn't really check things out well, as we were in a hurry to go out with friends that evening, so once we got back it was well after midnight. Exhausted, we fell into the bed, and that's when it turned ugly. At about 3am I awakened to a giant cockroach making a home on my head, and obviously could not go back to sleep. My husband went to use the restroom and a huge one crawled over his foot. I called the front desk, and was offered another room, but was told that it would most likely have roaches, too. I cleaned up in the filthy bathroom, packed my things, shook out my shoes and took off.
I obtained this room through Priceline, so I was SOL for a refund. I was offered no compensation, and didn't even get the courtesy of a call back from the hotel manager, as promised.
Do NOT spend your hard earned money here, folks!

We apolgize that your stay was not as expected. By far, the majority of our guests enjoy their stay and many come back time and again. Our management team has reviewed and addressed the issues above. Our pest control company services the hotel on a regualr basis to prevent such issues, but was contacted the next morning to inspect the room in question. No sign of insects were found. We appreciate your feedback and strive to continually improve our product and services to our guests.
