If so, then this will be a fine stay. I have stayed here numerous times over the years because of the convenience to downtown and decent value for the $. As time has passed, each successive stay creates more doubt in my mind about staying here any longer. This last visit was the clincher as other recent stays have tarnished my faith in this locale.
First, we were located directly next to the housekeeping locker. Saturday morning at 7:45 we were awaken by the sound of cups being packed onto carts, boxes being drug across concrete floors, the banging of lids on garbage cans, slamming doors and a fair amount of really loud conversation. I politely requested they keep it down the next morning and was told it wouldn't happen again on Sunday...well even my ear plugs didn't stop it that morning! This I will accept some responsibility for because I knew we were next to housekeeping and didn't insist on another room. Lesson learned.
Second, between the two of us, my wife and I took a total of 6 showers between Friday night and Sunday morning and only 2 of which actually had hot water. Is hot water not an expectation when you are paying over $150/night? Both the manager and the desk clerk both tried to make us feel like it was our fault for taking a shower at the wrong time! Since the cold showers were at various times I debunked their flawed excuses. The thing that bugs me is that this happened the LAST time we stayed. I guess just make sure you ask about the hot water schedule so you can time your showers.
Maybe I just expect too much for a $300+ stay for two evenings.
Room Tip: Don't let them give you a room next to the stairwells or housekeeping locker. Say something imm...
