My husband and I went to St. Augustine this past weekend.. It was more of a last minute trip, and between the places that were booked up and the ones that were too expensive, Bayfonr Inn seemed to be a good choice. This was a great deal. The ladies who work there are so nice- the woman who checked us in was hands down the nicest hotel worker I have ever dealt with, and considering we checked in in Christmas day that says a lot. The rooms have been renovated and were very nice. Please note that you can hear people above you, below you, etc. Also, even though the rooms look nice there is a slighly musky smell. This is all due to the age of the hotel. If you want to stay in the historic distric this is what you are going to have to deal with! It really isn't that bad though, and I thought it just added to the experience staying somewhere that had been around for so long.
This hotel is near everything- we didn't have to get in the car until we left. You can walk to the trolley stop, or just walk around town as we did. It's really not that big!
There have been complaints that the breakfast isn't great- no, there was nothing spectacular. I was fine with what they offered though. They had different types of toast, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, apples, and beverages. It was more than ok considering the price of the room. Of course you can pay an extra $100 a night and stay at a B&B...I'd rather spend the money at a resteraunt for dinner!
The best part was coming back to the hotel the first night and seeing the Christmas lights up. What a nice surprise!
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here.
