My husband and I try to make it up to St. Augustine every few years. We always stay at this hotel and never have a problem here. We always stay in in the 213,214, etc. rooms for the best views. staff is always helpful and friendly. I am a teacher and they always give me a great rate, call them and give it a try. FYI, Every year the bar, Matanza's (Right off of A1A) has a Palm Sunday Party. A band goes on every hour on the hour until 2am. It is a great time.

We arrived in a dirty hotel with mold on the walls, brown water in the toilet, and dirt coming out of the shower head. There was also no hot water...when we asked for a refund or at least a discount they had no real "manager" we could talk to & never honored our HORRIBLE experience staying there. It's a good location in downtown but a two minute drive from another hotel is well worth it.

I have never been treated with so much disrespect before from a hotel. I called a couple of weeks ago was given a reasonable price. I was told to call back because they had no bookings and the sweet girl told me rates would probably go down. I called back two weeks later and was quoted 70 dollars more a night!! I can go online and book a room at the same place for 40 dollars cheaper a night. The guy Tom was VERY rude, yelled at me, so I finally asked why he was being so rude. He put me on hold three times, cutting me off each time. I told him I have about 30 people booking there for my wedding and I told him I did not reserve a block of rooms - he kept asking for my name. I kept trying to explain to him that I did not have a block reserved. He then listened to me and told me that's why I was being charged so much. That' fine, I'm not looking for a discounted rate (I intentionally didn't reserve a block so people wouldn't feel obligated to stay there), but I didn't expect to one see such a huge increase and two have Tom treat me so bad. I have more than 30 rooms either booked or people are calling to book there and I am really at a point to tell them to cancel. If Tom treats me that bad over the phone, how will he treat my guests when they arrive??? And to top it off, he quoted me higher than what is listed online. I'm an a very nice person and to be treated like that from the moment I called, left me speechless. Tom is very inconsiderate and I think he makes the hotel look very bad. I do not want any of my out of town guests to think that is what St. Augustine has to offer. Will be canceling my rooms. I'm sure it doesn't matter to the hotel though, because they can find people to fill it. Just hope they don't have to deal with Tom!

Don't come here planning to stay in the room for more than a few hours to sleep. The bathroom is not really even big enough to take a shower or do your business.
But if you get it cheap, its in a great location for walking to all the tourist stuff and bars and restaurants.
St Augustine is a fun place, we had a good time and the room was just a place to sleep for a few hours then go out again.
