I have never been treated with so much disrespect before from a hotel. I called a couple of weeks ago was given a reasonable price. I was told to call back because they had no bookings and the sweet girl told me rates would probably go down. I called back two weeks later and was quoted 70 dollars more a night!! I can go online and book a room at the same place for 40 dollars cheaper a night. The guy Tom was VERY rude, yelled at me, so I finally asked why he was being so rude. He put me on hold three times, cutting me off each time. I told him I have about 30 people booking there for my wedding and I told him I did not reserve a block of rooms - he kept asking for my name. I kept trying to explain to him that I did not have a block reserved. He then listened to me and told me that's why I was being charged so much. That' fine, I'm not looking for a discounted rate (I intentionally didn't reserve a block so people wouldn't feel obligated to stay there), but I didn't expect to one see such a huge increase and two have Tom treat me so bad. I have more than 30 rooms either booked or people are calling to book there and I am really at a point to tell them to cancel. If Tom treats me that bad over the phone, how will he treat my guests when they arrive??? And to top it off, he quoted me higher than what is listed online. I'm an a very nice person and to be treated like that from the moment I called, left me speechless. Tom is very inconsiderate and I think he makes the hotel look very bad. I do not want any of my out of town guests to think that is what St. Augustine has to offer. Will be canceling my rooms. I'm sure it doesn't matter to the hotel though, because they can find people to fill it. Just hope they don't have to deal with Tom!
