I would term this property confused in that I believe it wants to be an upscale resort, from the valet to over-priced restaurant, to the spa. Reality is that it's just not, at least not now. The resort is in the middle of a renovation I think. I stayed here for a week in January 2012 and I enjoyed my stay and the property. On the good side: resort is right on main street in Safety Harbor so there is stuff to see and do right outside the door. The staff was pleasant enough. On the bad side: there's that sense on confusion. Over priced, stuffy restaurant. Rooms that were updated, but front doors that look like they just got kicked in by a biker gang. It just doesn't feel finished.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It's not a bad hotel at all; in fact I'm staying there again week after next. Just don't go expecting a four star experience. You'll be disappointed. And don't expect inexpensive on property goods/services just b/c they have lower room rates. That's not the case.
