“As Hampton Inns go, this is in the middle, but perfect for spring training”

I've stayed in some horrible Hampton Inns (the older ones) and some great ones, and this falls squarely in the middle. The rooms are clean, although ours had a bad smell, kinda like BO, although my husband didn't smell it. Service was friendly. Free breakfast was the usual fare. Wireless internet was spotty and often dropped my laptop while I was working. Air conditioning was noisy. The best part is that it's a mile on foot to the Mets stadium for spring training. We stayed here for convenience, not quality.

“took one look at the room and left”

I stay at Hamptons a lot. this one looked ok from the outside. should have suspected when i went in the lobby and it was shabby and a loud noise coming from a refrigerator in the desk area. The desk clerk could not have been nicer - she was very professional, but when I got to the room, it was awful. The decor had not been touched in 20 years, (forest green carpet?) but more significantly, the room was musty and dirty. I wont even speak of what the bathroom looked like. turned around and went back downstairs and said no way. Desk clerk did not seem surprised at all. left there and went to the HGI PGA and it was only a few dollars more and a universe different.

“Worst Hotel I've EVER stayed at!!”

I checked in and the desk clerk didn't even know what they were doing. It took a good 15 minutes for me to get checked in. I finally get to the room and it smelled damp and musty. There was mold on the ceiling and on the lamp shade. I tried to call down to the front desk, but the phones didn't work. So i went down and the desk clerk took another 10 minutes to move me. THe second room still smelled, but there was pee all over the toilet seat and hair on the towels. Then i got a wake up call 3 times starting at 4 in the morning. Went down to the desk the next morning to check out and the desk clerk apologized but basically blamed everything on the owner saying he was cheap and just bought the basics for the hotel. Which it showed cause the breakfast was awful and there were no newspapers and and the business center computer had viruses all thru it and no paper in the printer. I went to get a snack out of the suite shop and the prices were sky high!! It was cheaper just for me to go to the local gas station and get something. The desk clerk had nothing nice to say about the owner and they even said the owner was basically a cheap skate when it came to the hotel. I will never stay at this hotel again and I think the health department should be notified of the conditions of some of the rooms due to the mold and musty smells. It can't be healthy. This was the worst hotel i've ever stayed at. I'd rather sleep in my car or even at a mom and pop motel. I feel bad for anyone who stays here at this hotel. It's awful!!!!!

“Typical Hampton Inn”

My wife and I spent one night and were pleased with our room and the Inn as a whole.
The room and bathroom were clean and the beds were comfortable. We can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't eat there but the lobby was nice and the staff I dealt with were friendly and efficient.
We do think their rates were too high but for one night we were satisfied.

This was the worst experience we ever had with a hotel.We were moved Four times,there was water leaking in the rooms ,my papers were ruined,the tile fell from the ceiling in the front entrance and almost hit me.There was a charge on the credit card we gave them four times,without authorization.They said they would refund our money for our bad stay,as it turns out they recharged our credit card when we left.I have called the hilton top person and I am waiting for a response.I will never stay at this hotel again.
