this was our first trip to the sands harbor but won't be the last. the property was older but very clean and the staff went above and beyond to make sure you were taken care of. if you're looking for a "happeing" place this is not it but if you want to relax this is the perfect place. and if you want things to do it is only about 15 minutes to ft. lauderdale with all kinds of things to do. the property is right on the intercoastal waterway with a nice patiobar/ pool/restraunt area food was very good there is also a nice restrauant to eat inside there. the beach is about 2 blocks away. rooms have a balcony with great views, it is a great value for the price we would definately recommend this place

This is definitely an "Old Florida" kind of place. No spring breakers allowed, so any time visit will be quiet. You can sit on balcony and view the yachts go down the inter-coastal and there is small marina connected to hotel. Not really beach views or sunset views, but close. You will need to walk across huge parking lot and around a condo property to get to the beach. Beach is clean and wide with a mix of young and elderly sand lovers. The hotel has small bar that collect some locals with the quests. Very small pool, but relaxing. They attempt to keep the "old" property as clean as possible, and the staff very friendly to everyone. If they updated the rooms, which are surely in need, you would lose some of the charm and for sure increase the prices. The free breakfast was coffee, yogurt and packaged muffins. It "ain't South Beach" but close enough to sleep comfortable and take a leisurely drive to Miami sands anytime day you wish. If you are on of those folks checking out things in life's, such as "who owns the most toys or most expensive patio", take one of the inter-coastal tour boats, an interesting couple of hours.

We came to SCUBA Dive and had a great time. Keep in mind that this property is part of "Old Florida" so it is "a bit tired" around the edges. At the outdoor bar, I talked with one couple who visit every year to remember their honeymoon here 48 years ago, they say it is the same. So yes it needs new carpet etc. but everything was in working order and everyone was very attentive, friendly and fun! Oh and the restaurant was good also with indoor and outdoor dining. The Pompano Dive shop is at the marina and they were great.

First time there and planning to go again soon. It is close to everything! The hotel was clean, the staff could not have been better, and our stay was so relaxing. We tried to do it all, but one week is not enough. We had ages from 21- 52 and each of us thoroughly enjoyed this vacation.
